Corbin being slated to be the next Undertaker is something I've seen coming since he won the Andre Battle Royale in 2017 but I just didn't know how long they would wait until doing it, or HOW they would do it.

This shame spiral at losing his wealth seems like the perfect catalyst for this transformation.

My guess is this will get dragged out a bit, you'll see him try to reinvent himself with Alpha Academy, maybe try tagteaming with someone like Drew Gulak or Sami Zayn...

But eventually he's going to get someone dragging him to the dark side. I'm not sure who it'll be, but they'll play sort of a 'Paul Bearer' role seeking out dark powers to elevate him.

It could be Bray Wyatt (he needs a new angle after Fiend jobbed to Bliss at Mania) but could also be that new guy on Smackdown called Aleister Black, or maybe Seth Rollins?

Kane's not around very often but I could see (since his retirement is a bit more flexible than Taker's) him being dragged into such a storyline, recommending against the dark powers with his rehabbed mayor role.

Maybe even Alexa Bliss could do this, like she tries to make Corbin into Lily's friend, or he falls for her, something like that.

Also from the wealth situation let's remember that Dibiase was the guy who first introduced Undertaker at Summer Slam and he's still around at NXT... so maybe Corbin gets demoted to NXT for a bit and that's where he gets reborn and we finally see a Darkest DiBiase as his manager/Bearer

Also great time to bring back DiBiase Jr to job to Corbin "dad why won't you love me" > Tombstoned

This guy is good at a gimmick. Any gimmick, he does what he can to get over. It is what it is but Taker 2.0? Nope, they will not touch that kind of an idea. They ruined Wyatt, Alexa is too cute etc for such a silly gimmick but such is life.
