it's almost a cliche at this point
"juiced to the gills instagram bodybuilder tears his pec doing bench press"
there's a reason why it happens to these guys, where it is rare for elite raw powerlifters who regularly train with weights at around 90% of their max.
not sure if broscience but apparently training with half-reps "constant-tension" brings about better gains via more blood flow to the muscle if you are on dat dere (myofibrillar vs sarcoplasmic hypertrophy) and that's why a lot train that way. you can pump out alot reps and get a better pump training that way which is why back in the days of arnold they always talked about the pump.
obv the danger to that is if you don't train the bottom half of that rep, one day you might fuk up and lower it more than you're supposed to. since you are very weak in that position, boom pec tear. also the tendon to muscle strength ratio thing. i think alot of the older juiceheads know this and are a lot smarter where as you'll have some 19 year old kid with great genetic potential but isn't very knowledgeable on training and how to blast/cruise just hop on like their invincible.positivity brah crew
