Repost but he did a lot of chit that caused this, wasn't just the weak tendons. For one he grabbed the bar unevenly. Also presses guillotine style with no elbow tuck. I'm also guessing his body isn't used to low reps, and he probably rested for too long so he wasn't warmed up.

Alot of the substances these guys take weaken tendons. That would increase injury risk by itself. Then you factor in the much heavier weights they’re able to use, plus the fact they often don’t train intelligently (because their genetics and drug stacks are so good they don’t need optimal training to make gains) and you can see why these guys get injured.
I’ll also state upfront that half repping chest presses is a great way to tear a pec. You’re not strengthening the bottom range of motion, so one day when the weight’s too heavy and it goes below that joint angle into the position where it hasn’t been strengthened...boom there goes your pec.*Deadlifts pants after taking a chit crew*

95% of tears are from over use and lack of flexibility. Its why runners snap it bands and hammies so often, tight hamstrings are almost a given with runners dues to the imbalance running will cause in the leg with no other stimulation to balance it out.
i remember watching a video of one of the top bench pressers (can't for the life of me remember who, white dude) that when asked if he was worried about tearing a pec said nope because he believed the pec and shoulder girdle have almost no risk of injury barring you have complete flexibility and maintain complete flexibility. Ever since then when I see videos like this it reminds me dudes right, the guy in the op couldn't even bring a bar to touch his chest his flexibility was so poor, it was literally a guarantee he'd snap it if the weight fell below the plain his body was able to reach
I tore my pec years ago (tore the muscle not the tendon fortunately) doing incline presses and thats what made me find that video. Ever since then I've gone out of my way to focus on keeping shoulder flexibility and pressing movements feel so much safer.Official LTC representative
