I’ve heard 3 or 4 analysts/talking heads in the last couple of days proclaim that Mahomes played great in the SB. Kevin Clark on the BS podcast just said he played “amazing”.

I get he was running for his life and his pass catchers weren’t helping but fukkin LOL at saying he played well, let alone great. He still has Kelce, Hill and a variety of other weapons.

By the standard of “considering what he was dealing with”, I guess you could say Sam Darnold has been amazing in the NFL.

"Amazing" = the 4th worst passer rating in SB history and no TDs, not that I expect anyone to fare much better facing that kind of pressure with a banged up line...but he didn't really do anything but make some crazy passes that ended as incompletions.

I think Mahomes played poorly, not all his fault, but the defense gave him the same look all game and he never adjusted the offense. I know he can audible to a run play when the Bucs only brought 4 all game.

I think his inexperience was exposed this game. Bad coaching and bad QB reads and adjustments.

He'll be back strong next year. Just needs to make sure he can stay healthy.

If the receivers catch 2-3 of those amazing passes, we're looking at a totally different game and story... but that didn't happen.

The Bucs D-Line blew up every screen KC attempted and there were quite a few that was completely unrecognizable as screens because of how awful the O-line set them up, same issue for the RPO game which Reid and Mahomes rely heavily on
You can't make an accurate read on if a LB bites or not when there are one or more free rushers immediately in the backfield

Their LB's bracketed Kelce and blanketed everything on the underneath so even when they went into the short passing game there were no YAC plays, no crossers or wheels running uncovered, which is what KC thrives on when teams try to take the deep ball away
The LB core played unconscious throughout and credit to them
