Got my MRI done last week. Just spoke with the doctor today and i have 2 herniated discs. I have no insurance right now and the cost to do laser surgery is $24k. Apparently he's the only one in the state that does laser surgery. Not sure if serious

I feel your pain. My ankle has disintegrated, has four fractures and two of the four ligaments are torn.
Only options are having it replaced totally with a metal joint or to have it fused. Either way, my sporting life is ****ed at 30.

No dont
do not get surgery
Last year i had a badly herniated disk doing 500 pound squats for reps
MY disk was herniated plus i got my c4 and c5 slipped forward
read this again
i though it was game over for ever and i would be a common piece of sh*t human being ..
like my left quad was literally numbs all the time
anyways it took me a year to recover
and just the other i deadlifted 500 pounds for 20 reps
DO NOT get SURGERY all they will do is remove the cushion and fuse your vertebrae do not do it
ernie lillybridge had a video talking about his experience which im pretty sure was worst than yours and he came back from it squatting and deadlifting 800 lBS
the dude would have his two legs and feet go numb just by sitting down.
ok found the video i think its this one, listen to all of it

Genetics. Got ****ed by leukaemia, which caused the haemorrhage and hip replacements, and the eating disorder came from the body image issues that the leukaemia caused. Ankle issue is the same as the hip problems - necrosis from steroid usage (for chemo, not juicing) has left them in tatters.

ok can you explain to me how you fixed yours? I have had this issue for FIVE years. It has not gotten any better. I actually have a similar symptom, my right leg gets numb and painful to where I can't stand on it. The man explained he's done over 1k of these surgeries and all the laser does is remove the gel that's in the crack, allowing the body to heal the disc.
holy fuk. how do you walk?R 135

Just because you have a herniated disc or two doesn't mean you have to have surgery. 60% of the adult population has herniated discs whether they are symptomatic or not. I'm guessing the "laser surgery" mentioned is a microdiscectomy. There is no one only one doctor in your state does them. The microdiscectomy will not relieve your back pain. All it does is fix the burning nerve pain that runs down your butt and/or legs.

heard those surgeries fail more often than not. I had back pain since I was a kid but was able to get rid of it. would recommend you strengthen your core, not to a small degree you really need an extremely strong core.
Weighted Hyper extensions
Beltless Squats and Deadlifts
Heavy Barbell Holds
Standing OHP
Weighted Pull up
all helped to get rid of my back pain. serious. I couldn’t get out of my bed once or walk now I have zero painHTC is too skinny for me. Fat Girls only crew. serious

Been working in the rehab space for twenty years and have yet to see a successful back surgery that actually fixed the problem.
Surgery is PERMANENT. They either remove or add things that will stay in there forever and if they remove part of your disc you will never be the same again.
You can rehab herniated discs yourself with proper therapy and changing the way you lift. I'd rather work on that than ever let a surgeon touch me. And I've helped hundreds of people rehab after surgery.

I can't read his assistant's writing...back of the card says nucleus puldosus inflammation
I've been in and out of the gym the entire time, working my upper and lower body. the situation has not improved by the gym. if anything, this cheap tenz unit i bought relieved some numbness in my leg. the nerve pain shoots straight to my head. I feel like it's given me brain damage sometimes srs
nerve pain in right leg for several years, causing it to have weakened. gets numb, hurtful, and often felt like it was waking up from being asleep. now I have lower back pain.R 135

Ok so he's for sure talking about a microdiscectomy. There are many treatment options for you. Look up the physical therapy protocols and try those first. If that doesn't work they can do epidural steroid injections. They inject steroids right on the nerve and sometimes after the initial shot it never gets inflamed again. If the shot helps for only a couple weeks or so they can go in and do a nerve ablasion to make it a permanent fix. I wouldn't go back to this doctor since he told you he is the only one in the state who does this surgery though. I live in a poor, low population state and can name 15 doctors off the top of my head who do it.

ok sounds good. I think I'm in a bind now and I'll tell you why. I have no insurance and for this type of treatment, I for sure will need insurance. The open enrollment deadline is the 15th. A surgery plan will requite a certain plan, while something like that would likely be a different type of plan I BELIEVE. I could be wrong.

how come have you been dealing with this for 5 years ?
The only way i think this would be possible would be because your job requires you to lift stuff from the ground all the time.
For my part to heal faster i cheated. i got a cpap machine so i could fall into really deep sleep, this fixed the problem very quickly once i got it
at 30 years old i feel like im 16 again with this

additionally , walking on the incline treadmill everyday with a sweatshirt sweating my ass off really seems to regulate my body and help me sleep at night, clear my mind and enhance my cognitive ability.
the low impact cardio will really help you trust me. jay cutler was doing 45 mins of cardio everyday to turn his body into a machine pushing all the nutrients to the right places
it all about sleep, so you try to drain your battery as much you can everyday
Its all about sleep there no way you should be injured for more than a few weeks months, if thats the case theres something wrong with your sleep

when your back pain is gone, strengthen your low back with a variation of low back / hip extensions (body weight only, go high reps if you need to)
I've heard this more than once, all to often people get spinal surgeries when they dont need it. if your lower back can recover and you have no back pain 90% of the time you are fine.
You really need to look at your work outs/daily egronomics and figure out what is doing this to you.IF YOU DONT SQUAT, YOU AINT SQUAT

worst was when i had to take off work for 1 week because i could barely get out of bed, didn't lift for probably 4 months
you eventually get better, OP is better off spending money on a bike to help with recovery
