Sunny's SAN Tight! Hardcore Log
Hey guys! This is my first log, so be gentle. I was chosen to be a tester about two weeks ago, picked up my bottle today, and I'll start my log tomorrow. I'm a little behind the rest of the pack, but hopefully there's still room for my input.
I'm an Army officer, and I just got back from a 2 week field problem. I'm stationed here in Georgia (Fort Stewart, in Savannah) and I'll be heading out to Iraq in about 2.5 months. Again.
Stats:
Age: 24
Height: 5'9"
Weight: 155
Bodyfat: 20% (or thereabouts)
Routine:
Currently I workout 5 times a week. I'm on a 4-day a week split, as follows --
Day 1: Quads & Hams
Day 2: Chest & Triceps
Day 3: Back & Biceps
Day 4: Calves & Shoulders
Abs every weights session. I do cardio in the morning and lift in the afternoon -- cardio is anything from running to stepping to tennis, from 40-60 minutes, 5 times a week. Occasionally I will throw in a yoga or pilates tape on the weekends to help my flexibility.
Nutrition:
I eat the same way basically every day. I'm pretty boring, honestly.
Meal 1: 1 cup of high-protein oatmeal (or a protein smoothie)
Meal 2: 5oz chicken w/ salad
Meal 3: 5oz chicken w/ salad
Meal 4: 3-6oz tuna w/ brown rice (Pre-workout)
Meal 5: Protein shake (post-workout)
Meal 6: Chicken/Fish/Beef w/ veggies
~1700-1800 cals, 40%C/40%P/20%F
My caffeine intake has been VERY high the past two weeks as I've been in the field -- usually I have one 16oz cup of coffee per day, and some unsweetened iced tea in the afternoons at lunch. I don't usually have adverse reactions to supplements (even ephedra just hopped me up, I never had a "bad" reaction to it) so I'm interested to see how this affects me.
Anyway, I owe you all some "before" pics, and I'll get to that this evening.
Hope you're all having great days!
~Sunny

Day 1 -- Whee!
I didn't do this before, but I'd like to thank all the San Tight! folks for picking me out of the line-up -- taking a chance on a young, untried bodybuilder to write a halfway decent log.
Now on to business -- today was great!
Nutrition: High carb ~1700 cals
The Dose:
2 caps ~40 minutes prior to working out, on an empty stomach
Workout: Cardio & Weights
10 minutes of sprints on the treadmill
10 minutes on the stepper
Quads & Hams: (drop set day)
Leg Press: 2 x 10 @ 410, 410
1 x 10 @ 410
1 x 10 @ 365
1 x 10 @ 320
1 x 10 @ 275
1 x 10 @ 230
1 x 20 @ 185
Leg Curls: 2 x 10 @ 70
1 x 10 @ 80
1 x 10 @ 70
1 x 10 @ 60
1 x 10 @ 50
1 x 20 @ 40
Leg Extensions: 2 x 10 @ 85, 95
1 x 10 @ 105
1 x 10 @ 95
1 x 10 @ 85
1 x 10 @ 75
1 x 10 @ 65
1 x 10 @ 55
1 x 20 @ 45
Double Pulse Walking Lunges:
3 x 20 @ 15lbs each hand
10 minutes of sprints on the treadmill
Total Gym Time: 1hr, 15 minutes
Total Cardio Time: 30 minutes
The Verdict:
I'm very happy with how the product performed today. I'm not sensitive to stims normally, so I wasn't expecting to get jittery. A lot of times I barely feel the kick, but this felt great -- about 10 minutes into my initial sprints I could feel it hit. It wasn't jarring at all, just a nice steady push of energy that carried me through the rest of the workout.
I DID notice that I sweat a LOT more -- I was soaked by the end of the workout. My heart wasn't going crazy, but I did notice I was really flushed, and thirstier than I usually am. I drank a liter of water at the end of the workout.
I'll give it an 8.5/10 for today. I'd like to see how it performs when I do some steady state cardio or when I'm lifting a muscle group I normally hate (like shoulders)...but so far, so good!
Oh, and here are my "before" shots.

That's a good question -- I didn't notice being crazy hungry yesterday, even after my workout. I'll keep that in mind today and let you know when I post tonight.

Very nice log considering it's your first one, hell it's nice no matter how many you've done.
Good luck with it and if you have any questions just leave them in the thread or pm one of the SAN reps on board.

Aww thanks yall.
Nutrition: Mod. carb ~1800 cals
The Dose: 4 caps total (2 in the morning, 2 in the afternoon)
Workout: Cardio x 2
Morning: 3 mile run (~24 minutes)
Afternoon: 1 hour of tennis
The Verdict:
So this stuff is motivation in a bottle. I was NOT feeling my second workout today (tennis), and about 40 minutes after I took my dose I was bouncing up and down the court doing my best Venus Williams impression. It was amazing.
Pros: GREAT energy level, especially given I was really tired this afternoon. Also, my appetite was suppressed throughout the day. I didn't have any period where I was clawing at the walls for food.
Cons: None really, but I got really sweaty again. And thirsty. Has anyone else noticed that side effect? I drink about a gallon of water a day, and this was definitely noticeable.
Overall: 9/10 (I'm really liking this product!)

Everything is pretty normal and the product is doing what it suppose to do. Maybe increase your water intake slightly..Also, don't forget your electrolytes

Indeed, I concur with Matt. You're going to want at the very least a gallon/day anyhow, Tight! Hardcore or not. However, Tight! Hardcore makes you need water more anyhow.
This log looks really good so far and you look good in your starting pictures. Really, you're already reasonably lean already. It'll be exciting to follow along and see how much you progress by the end of the bottle. I'm impressed with how dialed-in you are with your diet especially. Great stuff.
Awaiting the next update.

Cakedonkey -- thanks! I'm working at it...too bad I slip occasionally.
Nutrition: Total crap today ~2000 (high carb...whoops)
The Dose: 4 caps total, divided between 2 doses
The Workout:
40mins of grass drills (6 x 100m suicides, 6 x 100m sprints, 6 x figure eights)
Chest & Tris:
Incline Press ss w/ Flyes 3 x 20 @ 25lbs/12lbs
Pushups 3 x failure (~20)
Overhead Tricep Press ss w/ Kickbacks 3 x 20 @ 25lbs/12lbs
Rope Tricep Pressdown 3 x 20 @ 30lbs
Abs
The Verdict:
So Hardcore really earned its paycheck today. You know how when you eat like crap you usually FEEL like crap as well? Nobody ever downs some girlscout cookies and feels like going sprinting -- plus I didn't sleep well at all last night. Even dragging my tail this morning, I took my first dose and felt GREAT the rest of the day. I didn't need coffee or a diet coke for a caffeine hit even midafternoon.
I hadn't tried the stuff when sprinting before, and it performed really well. Even the last two sprints were great -- where I'm usually flagging I finished strong. After the sprints, the lift was good. My trainer focuses entirely too much on arms. I would've preferred to focus on chest, myself, but that's just me.
Pros -- great energy, all day. I was the friggin' energizer bunny. I am REALLY loving that I don't have any crazy highs or crashes.
Cons -- I haven't noticed much of a pump when lifting. One of the other logs mentioned getting one. Is that something I'm supposed to expect? Other than that, I'm trying hard to find something not to like about this product. I think you have a convert -- so far, this is my favorite supp since hydroxycut lost ephedra.

Sorry about the lack of posting -- my internet went down and then I had an insane day at work yesterday. I'll break this up into two posts, one to give my one-week review, and the next to talk about today's lift.
Week 1 Verdict
Nutrition: A little spotty, especially on the agua intake. I need more of that, and I need to cut out the refined carbs. I noticed a spike in "emotional" eating last week (do dudes ever do that, or is that just a chick thing?) and if I'm hungry, I'll grab the first crap that's available. Ie, hershey's kisses or girlscout cookies. NOT ideal. What do you all think about using hoodia while on this product? I like how hoodia dampens cravings, and I could use some craving control, especially given all the sugary crap my office has.
The Drugs: The dose is good -- I end up taking 2 caps twice a day, at about 5:30am and 5-6pm, or roughly an hour prior to each of my workouts. I haven't noticed any sleep problems doing this, so I suppose it's out of my system by about 11pm. Even 12 hours apart, my energy level stays high, with no crashes mid-afternoon. I also haven't noticed any of the icky side-effects to typical energy enhancers -- no jitteriness, no shakes, no times when my heart's pounding, and again, no sleep disturbances. I haven't had any nights where I've laid awake staring at the ceiling feeling like my heart is about to burst out of my chest, like I used to have on ephedra.
The Workouts: A+ all around. I've done a mixture of workouts this week, and I liked how STH performed with all of them. I've done:
-Cardio in the AM/weights in the PM
-Cardio just prior to weights
-Cardio after weights
-Cardio before & after weights
No matter which combination, I finished every workout strong. I even had a couple of PBs (one today, but I'll get to that). So any way you slice it, even when I'm in the gym for up to 2, 2.5 hours, I'm still feeling relatively fresh by the end of it.
Pros: Great, sustained energy. Unlike a lot of products I've tried, this doesn't FEEL like I'm on anything. It feels like I'm just having a great, focused day in the gym, as opposed to feeling like I went from 0 to 60 in 0.2 seconds.
Cons: The sweating, which is annoying (and unattractive ) and the thirst. I'm drinking a LOT of water, and I'm still having a bit of cotton mouth. Not a huge negative, though.
Next up, Day 1 of Week 2.

Today was fantastic.
Nutrition: Well, okay, THIS wasn't. I started a new job today and it turns out my boss doesn't believe in lunch breaks. So I ended up posting about 1600 cals, low protein and high carbs. Protein didn't break 100 grams. Also, water intake was too low, at 3 liters.
The Dose: 2 doses, 4 caps total.
The Workouts:
Workout 1 - Cardio:
3.8 miles, 26 minutes (first mile at a sub-7min/mile pace )
Workout 2 - Back & Bis
1-arm rows ss w/rear delt flyes:
Sets: 6
Reps: 21, 18, 15, 15, 18, 21
Weight: 1-arm rows - 25, 40, 45, 45, 45, 45#...rear delts - 15#
back extensions:
Sets: 3
Reps: 20, 20, 30
Weight: b/w
Machine Bicep Curls ss w/ high cable curl
Sets: 3
Reps: 21, 18, 15
Weight: machine bicep - 40#, high cable curl - 20#
Cable Rope Curl ss w/ Reverse Grip Cable Curls
Sets: 3
Reps: 15, 18, 21
Weight: cable curl - 40#, reverse grip - 20#
Abs
This was a strong workout, especially that last set of 1-arm rows with the 45. I am starting to get irritated with my trainer though. He's a great guy, but he focuses too much on arms. I'm lobbying for pull-ups next week. Or maybe cleans. I like cleans. (Plus I NEVER do squats. I like squats. I miss squats. I'm sick of the frapping leg press.)
The Verdict:
Guys, I don't know what else I can say. I love this supplement. You have a convert here. Just tell me what else I can stack this puppy with, and I'm a happy camper all around. I recommended it to two guys in the gym who saw me hoisting the 45 DB for 21 reps and were like, "girl, what are you ON?"
See yall tomorrow.

Well, it is pretty normal to have the increased sweating thermogenic effects, y'know. Drinking a lot of water is not really a bad thing though - it's just extra hydration. All I can really say there is drink like a madman (madwoman?) - keeping well hydrated is an often overlooked point.
As for the hoodia, I will need to look into it more before I can venture an answer for that - to stay on the safe side, I can't recommend taking hoodia with it, because I'm not aware of any possible interactions. I've never looked much into hoodia as a whole - with any particular concern to thyroid interaction.
Keep up the good work, and nice job on the 45lb row

I'm not posting in this log as often as I meant to -- sorry guys!
I've had two absolutely INSANE workouts since I last posted...probably two of the best workouts I've had in a long time. I SHREDDED my legs Friday, and then today tore up the incline bench with 35# dumbbells.
I. love. this. product. That's really all I can say.
Nutrition: ~1700 cals, low carb, high protein
The Workouts:
AM: light calisthenics, ~2.5mile run (second mile in 6:45 )
PM: Chest & Tris
Incline Bench ss w/ Incline Flyes
Sets: 3
Reps: 15
Weight: 25, 30, 35# dbs on the bench, 12# on the flyes (too light)
Cable Low Cross
Sets: 3
Reps: 20
Weight: #2 plate
Bodyweight Dips
Sets: 3
Reps: 10 (awesome!)
Machine Tricep Press
Sets: 3
Reps: 15
Weight: 40, 50, 60#
Recomp Notes:
So I'm noticing some pretty drastic changes in my body, just over the last couple of weeks. My diet isn't that much better than it was either, so I'm inclined to attribute most of it to STH. I've lost about 3 pounds from my last assessment (down to 152-ish) and I'm able to see my top two abs now. You really see it in my upper body though, and through my hips. I'll post some progress pictures after my next assessment with my trainer.

Something I really love about all of our loggers is that everyone's nutrition seems so damn dialed in. This is great, since that's the only way you'll notice true benefit from the Tight! Hardcore. Obviously, training is looking great too.
Looking forward to future pics. If you're looking leaner in the mirror, that's always a good sign.
BTW--in regards to stacking options--our Sesamin [2-3 caps/day] and our Ultra Pure Green Tea [2 caps/day] would be worthwhile additions, for good health as well as better body composition.
Keep up the hard work.
