The world is only getting more political and I love talking politics.
Is it worth trying to date someone who is against your favorite president?
She says she’s a libertarian and agrees with most of trumps policies but thinks he’s a racist etc.
Yet can’t provide any evidence. Her own parents love Trump.
I’m 29 she’s turning 25. Been dating for 8 months now. Talking about the future already.
She checks most of my requirements.
But leans more left than original made seem.
Already had two fights over politics. She just shuts down like a child.
It’s virtually impossible to change someone’s mind and I suck at it.
I don’t know if I can date someone who votes for Biden.
Stick in it?
Try to convince her?
Let it go?
Breakup and try to find a true conservative girl even though I’m 29?

Generally in relationships men make women more Conservative by providing a good life & thus leading by example & showing how a Conservative mindset is the best.

Does she respect your view points? Your morals? Its ok to have different view points in politics, you're not gonna find someone thats PERFECT, if you love her, your core values align then why not? Personally my husband and I don't align perfectly on politics, but I respect his view points and he respects mine.

See this is my issue. I never get into fights over politics with people because politics means nothing in terms of the menial bullchit like "he's a racist" etc. What matters is the cultural aspect of politics. What does she BELIEVE in terms of things like family, safety, financial, and societal aspects?
Right down what values, principles, and morals you have and what you want out of life with those in mind. Then start picking at her here and there to see if her views line up with yours. If not, then move on. If they are pretty similar, then stay if you love her.
For example, I am 29 and single. I have strong values in honesty, loyalty, integrity, gratitude etc. In principle I tend to live by a few things like "Life is constant growth, and if you are crumbling, crumble upwards." "Tend your own garden until you can give from it." Ideas like that. I also want a stay at home mother, would prefer 3-5 kids or more, and would prefer to homeschool my kids until high school, I want to live in a smaller community with a mini homestead, etc.
So once you define what you want in some concrete, then you can make that decision. Just fighting and bitching about politics and if Trump is a racist or not means nothing. In 4 years he won't be president anymore, and then you guys fought over nothing.

“You know, Tyron and I were politically opposed to each other, right, but we’re two adults who respect each other who can have dissenting opinions on stuff and still get along really well and still respect each other and still be really good friends because listen, I guarantee you, you don’t politically see the same exact way as every single one of your friends and if you do you’re living in this tiny little vacuum that’s going to make you a really weird unique human being. So, we should be friends with people who we are politically opposed to, we should be friends with people we don’t have same values as us, that’s what makes us unique.” – Ben Askren

Problem with politics, is if you believe one side is for freedom and one side is against it. Then if they vote for the over side then they are an enemy of the country.
She agrees on taxes and rights but is so hell bent on racism. Due to her family owning slaves and being here for 250 years.
It’s not that I can’t respect her believes or she doesn’t respect mine. It’s I can’t Handle stupid people if I feel I’m right. If I prove my point yet they ignore factual logic then they are stupid.

From experience, being with someone with different politics point of view can definitely break the relationship. Almost as bad as being with someone with different financial goals.
It's going to take alot of effort to make the relationship work.
I wouldn't say breakup just based on that but both of you are young and might make the shift into a different political view soon enough.
Look at other aspects of her that you feel you can grow together in the mean time.
Finances, life style, common goals, places to live, kids, family, travel..etc
good luck op

Was dating a girl who was pretty left (books on race theory, white fragility, she was asian I'm white...). I would bring up points sometimes about how chit is kind of turning against white people, and that after dating 2.5 years I thought maybe she'd be on the side of her future son/daughter seeing as how they will be half white. She is full on into the kool-aid and it has been the cause of many an argument. I finally had enough seeing as how there are many differences and decided I don't wanna spend the rest of my life hearing about how everything is the fault of white people cuz skin color, and that I don't want my son or daughter to be self hating, or think society is their fault because they are half light skinned...

The problem is that these days everyone has to instantly go into full hate-mode against anyone who doesn't agree with them.
Back in the day educated people actually enjoyed hearing different points of view from other intelligent people, thinking about it, and then forming their own opinions. Now they just get indoctrinated by their teachers or a few tweets, think they know something, and then hate everyone who disagrees. They rarely change their viewpoint, even in the face of overwhelming evidence (or lack of it for their views).
So, in short, differing politics is probably a ticking time bomb for younger people. Better make sure you both are demonstrating ideological flexibility in your thinking.☠ By reading this post, you have agreed to my negative reputation terms of service.

It sounds like you have less of an issue with her political leanings and more of an issue with communication.
Her political leanings vs yours may have started the argument but it should be something you guys can work through. Your real problem is her shutting down like a child as you say. And until you look past the superficial cause you won’t be able to fix the underlying cause (her inability to talk it through with you) and fix it.
But yes it’s possible. Sometimes two strong people simply disagree with each other on a few things. You won’t reach a middle ground. Neither will concede. But you can respect their position and they respect yours and move on.
You don’t need to agree on everything.
Obviously if there are major differences it will slowly eat away at the relationship if someone pretends it’s okay at first (that never lasts). For slight differences it’s totally doable though

LOL at caring what a woman's opinion is.
This is like not wanting to have children because they'll have different viewpoints than you and support stupid sh*t you don't like. Women are basically children."One day I won't be able to lift any more. Not I won't want to lift. I mean physically unable. That day could be decades from now or it could be tomorrow. All I know is that's the day I'll wish I could lift more than ever. The day I'd give anything for one more workout, one more set, or one more cardio session. So go hard and enjoy every workout, every set, every rep. Because one day you will wake up and you will never get it back."

My GF is religious, and her family is super religious. I am an atheist. We do discuss our perspective sometimes. I have gone to church with her and her family at her request. There has never been a negative impact. We do discuss how to raise kids, and I feel by the time it happens we will both be satisfied with the approach we will take together.
Also, negged for no pics. That is all.I only read thread titles and my own posts.

Not American but my GF is a bit woke and hates trump. I'm neither for or against, love how he spits out absolute BS a lot of time because its funny but can also see when he has done something good. I wind her up about things and play Devils advocate a lot for a giggle but at the end of the day I support a govt that represents the common man of that country over immigration, imposes good housing and tax policies, and promotes relevant higher education while funding trade schools for the kess academically inclined people. The rest matters very little to me.
Despite this debating from time to time we never let it get personal. In NZ we have a MMP system so minor parties get a look in and form coalition governments and this year I'm voting for a minor because the two main parties are useless cucks.

generally speaking this. also if a girl likes you shel emulate you and like the things you like so that will help greatly in convincing her that if its not right its wrong.
but on a side note i could never date a raging lib girl.
the issue ive found when trying to talk politics with liberals is that you can discuss the results of liberal policies and they will probably agree with you that those results are terrible but they refuse to accept that it was liberals who created it. its as if the people who constantly watch mainstream media intentionally ignore the truth and only believe what they want to believe and it makes no difference what you say to them. theyl acknowledge the smaller picture and completely ignore the big picture.Merica
