I know miscers are furiously jerking themselves off to the dream of legally being able to shoot a liberal in the context of a civil war battle, but obviously that's not going to happen.
If you look at other highly corrupt and divided countries throughout history, what follows civil unrest is usually violence toward the current political figureheads by small extremist groups. Antifa/Proud Boys are clown shows who just want to slap the other side around and look tough on social media, but I would bet there are smaller far more serious groups quietly forming right now.
Do you think it calms down or keeps escalating until blood is shed?

very very unlikely we will ever see a successful assassination. I do think the current climate of society is going to reach a point of no return and the only boil over will be some kind of massive bloodshed or large scale violence like we've not witnessed before

Regardless who wins you will see an increased escalation of violence from both sides after the election.
