i think izzy should be the favorite, but costa is huge and isn't gonna just stand there like yoel. i was watching costas highlights after that and man he has such a brutal/beautiful body hook punch. it's so nice.

I really hope Izzy gets his teeth kicked in. There's a good chance Costa gets him up against the fence and beats the piss out of him with body/head shots. Especially since the octagon is significantly smaller than the last time Izzy fought. It's going to hinder his reach/evasion. Perfect for Costa.

This is the most exciting fight of the year for me.

I think Izzy does exactly the same thing as he did against Romero. Chip away at the legs real early and try to stick and move. Costa is less of a threat on the ground than Romero so it may be an easier fight. The only difference is Costa will probably press forward like Izzy is no threat to KO him and then its a matter of who hits the chin first. Should be a cracker.

I think Costa made some good points though. Costa made it a fight vs Romero, Adesanya just refused to engage meaningfully vs Romero.


for someone whose English isn't the greatest this was a good comeback "the only thing more disturbing than your hair was your fight with Romero". Fukn loled hard at that one.

This will be a great fight. I think Adesanya is underestimating Costa to a degree because he isn't a dumb fighter. Yeah he gets a bit wild but he's a good striker. But if Costa isn't careful he can get caught with some of Adesanya's strikes and could pick him apart from the outside. But Adesanya can get tagged and some of those punches are bound to land on him.

I think it comes down to who lands the heaviest leg kicks in the first two rounds. If Costa can take away Izzy's movement then we're on. If Izzy chops up Costa early, then he can run away for 25 mins.

Idk who has better accuracy overall but I do think Silva was the better overall striker in his prime due to his ability to evade. Izzy talks a big game but he seems a little stiffer. I’ve seen him get hit when I don’t think Silva would have in his prime.

Silva is a counter-striker a lot of the times. Romero fights in short bursts. this is how they fight against most other fighters unless that other fighter brings it to them with aggression so it really isn't because of Izzy's style. I think Costa will definitely bring the fight to Izzy and force him to engage, especially with a smaller cage. But maybe if Costa gets hit with some hard shots he might back off a bit. Who knows. But as you've said Izzy is prone to getting hit and one of those shots from Costa is bound to land.
