I'm Lopsided, please advise
Well I knew I was lopsided but this pic really shows it! The new workout is helping with size but it looks like just one side. LOL
When I was in High school I messed up my right shoulder playing football. I separated it and somehow broke the little piece of bone that the collar bone attaches to.
Anyway, it didn't heal right. Some of the neck muscles that attach just in front of the collar bone didn't make it back to the right spot. Now my body compensates in a weird way. If you drawl an imaginary X across my chest you can see the compensation at work.
My left neck and right lat are big but my right neck and left lat are small. As if I didn't have enough to work around with the metal hip and all??????
I wouldn't even worry about it but it's looking just plain weird now. It's not nearly as noticeable when I'm not as big. Should I just lay off and not worry so much about size, and just stay in the "fit" range?
I don't want to look like the "Defender" from Lady In The Water. LOL
If I start cutting now, I would loose a little mass but be in great shape. What do you think, have I found my peak?
Man this is discouraging! Any input would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks.
Joel

I really think your being a bit hard on yourself. Ive seen trainees with bad devellopment think they were ready for the cover of men's health lol. Have you tried using dumbell work for shoulders for a few cycles to isolate each one. It seems to me the muscle insertions on your rigth shoulder is a bit shorter. Maybe you could increase the muscle belly with some dumbell work. I still think you look great, if I were you I would keep at it with some dumbell work. Hope this helps.
Cheers

i identify with you, joel. my left shoulder's dislocated quite badly recently, and i think i may end up looking lop-sided too.

Joel, my right shoulder is permanently messed up more than I can see in your pic; it's a good close pic, but I just can't see the problems you're describing.
If you don't have any pain training the shoulders, I'd agree with trying the dbell work for a while as well as barbell presses and military behind the neck presses if you feel comfortable doing them just to hit all the areas. I also think you're being too tough on yourself.
Can't see where you'd need to cut either; just keep working on adding clean muscle mass; unless cutting to just get the bf down more. At 36, you're nowhere near your peak if you mean how far you can go! Keep pushing hard and eating clean.

Thanks. I don't know how you don't see it but thanks. LOL
I know we are our own worst critics. No, I don't have pain in the shoulder, I guess that's why I'm so surprised at how much difference there is. I just don't get why. I'll try using dumbbells & see what I can do.
Yes I considered the cut, just to bring down my body fat. When ever I up the protein to bulk up, my belly bulks as well. LOL
As far as my peak,,, I wasn't referring to how far I could go, but more so as to how far I should go. Like I said, I don't want to look like the Defender from Lady in the Water. I know I don't look like that but from what I'm seeing in the pic, I don't want to let it get too far and then have to try to fix it when I do.
Thanks again & I'll give it a shot

i am always seeing subtle things in my body and they seem like huge differences but others are like "what are you talking about? i don't see any difference". we are our own worst critics. go easy on yourself.

Not a big deal, no one is perfectly symetrical
I noticed in my head-on pics, that one ear is bigger than the other and sticks out more.
Also my right calf is about an inch larger than my left one.
I think we notice more than others.

I can see what you are talking about but only because you told me where to look and what to look for. It doesn't jump out at me. I would keep going and see if it gets worse. You can always back off but it's hard to get rolling again and you appear to be rolling.

Actually, not that bad. Build up your right trap, that would probably help a lot. Your right delt is a little smaller, but it's your right trap that is fairly noticable. But, as others have pointed out, most of us are naturally not perfectly symetrical anyways. This, however, you can "fix".
