I've been a bagger all my life due to the cleaner aesthetics but looking to switch to mulching . What your thoughts ?

Used the bag when I got my last mower the first few times, but got tired of starting/stopping to dump the bag 5-6 times just for the front yard so now I just let it mulch with no bag. It was noticeably more aesthetic bagged but not enough so to be worth the extra hassle.

Fully depends on your lawn and the status of it.
side shoot should never be an option.
i would mulch it if you have healthy grass with very minimal weeds. This allows the mulched up grass to help keep the ground wet and then the blades will breakdown into natural nutrients.
if you have some weeds, i would bag it to prevent spreading any undesirable weeds and invasive grass types.PS4

I’m with this man. My grass stays pretty moist so I bag it, plus front lawn is small so I can do it while only changing the bag once. If I don’t bag it the grass clippings look all clumpy on the lawn, makes it look like ****.
I don’t have any weeds so I probably could get away with no bag when it’s really dry in the summer.★ ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Browns

When I cut my lawn I always bagged it since I didn't want the mulch on the grass. If I mulched my grass it would kill my lawn because it would build up thatch. We also use our front yard and back yard often so I wouldn't want to be walking in the mulch. I hire a guy now to do it because it's dirt cheap and looks good. He also picks up all the leaves on my house which is the GOAT.

Helpful thread is helpful.
I've got a small front and back lawn that take total 20 mins to Mow, +15 to edge. Worth saving the $40 every time because it's a decent work out and tolerable if done when its less than 80degrees outside.
Shooting out the side is great for ease. But agreed it looks better and cleaner when it's bagged. just such a waste. I get it why prof. lawn companies do it though, it's 1/2 of what you're paying for.Just trying hard to not be a fat sack-o-chit.

I side that chit right into my driveway because I love random ass thick patches of grass in my driveway.
But seriously, I just keep it all on the lawn for thicker growth. Why waste it?
If it is super thick and clumps, it does look bad for a couple days while that cut grass dries out. But I feel like in general that is good for the lawn.I only read thread titles and my own posts.
