Watched and thought they finally put some decent power in. I really wish they would, at least a turbo or tt v6. The highest hp variant barely has 300 hp. Lmfao at them trying to convey they had to spend millions creating a track to test that slow ass car
Edit: they killed the gs and aren’t making an is f. Srs wtf, Lexus IS dead. Cementing themselves as a car for Karen and geriatricsLast edited by blazenbb; 07-11-2020 at 10:45 AM.

Because people think getting a lexus is like getting a real luxury car.
Infiniti and lexus are the phucking poverty of luxury cars. Even a base ass A4 has more tech than an IS.
And lol @ 300hp. Out of a V6......in a "sporty luxury sedan"...........in phucking the year 2020 lol.
An ecoboost explorer also has 300hp lol.

Is it still the same engine as the last 10 years?
I have an IS350 F Sport, gonna keep it for at least 5 more years. Not complaining, but just sayin'.
Not really a fan of the rear end. Looks like a Lincoln MKZ.Last edited by The Prime Nip; 07-11-2020 at 07:35 PM.

absurd
Lexus builds essentially the ideal luxury car, insanely reliable, insanely comfortable, great looking interior, carefree ownership. what more do you expect. I think you mean to argue that their luxury-sportscars aren't that good that's a completely different topic. saying Lexus are poverty luxurycars is just plain ignorant of the facts.Last edited by gluon; 07-12-2020 at 10:58 AM.

Used GS350 here. Toyota quality and reliability, upscale design, interior luxury, ok power. Looks faster than it really is. Pretty good for my daily driver beater. Should last me 150+k miles before I decide to upgrade.
Want a sports car, get a sports car. If you want a sports sedan, then yes get German car, but there are huge trade offs for that extra 100-200 horsepower I would never get to enjoy in bumper to bumper traffic.
I'm gonna hold on to naturally aspirated engines as long as I can. No thanks to turbos for daily driving.

Lexus quality is top notch and comparable with Euro cars of the same class. Yes they are underpowered but you get a reliable vehicle that will last forever with basic maintenance.
You run into issues in higher mile vehicles that are FI'd and NA pushing out a lot of power.
We already know if they wanted they can make bad ass sports cars. They've done it before.

They're reliable because they are the same basic car they've been making for 20 years with none of the tech competitors use to get higher performance and meet emissions and mpg requirements
I have no idea how Toyota managed to get away with that but more power to them. They make the perfect car for people who don't especially enjoy driving and don't want to have to deal with expensive repairs after 5 years like youd have to with real luxury cars
even stock my pp mustang beat an m4 in track testing, and tied a $140k m4 GTS
not sure what you mean by agility and precision because the track times, skidpad etc for these boomer mobile Toyotas aren't exactly impressiveLast edited by Halfway; 07-13-2020 at 09:23 AM.

I'm so tired of companies calling their cars "Sporty luxury sedan". 300hp is far from sporty especially in a 3800lb sedan.
My 2001 Lexus GS430 has 300hp. I mean wtf Lexus. They killed they GS because they didn't know what they wanted with the GS.
People are expecting performance from Lexus and I think it's safe to say that Lexus never really cared to add performance. They compete with base model BMW/Audi/Mercedes and that's it. Lexus is nothing more than an upgraded Toyota at this pointLast edited by MikeLowrrrey; 07-13-2020 at 11:10 AM.

Lexus is far from a performance brand, that's what i was getting at earlier.
People who buy lexus's THESE DAYS, get it because it's a lexus, a supposed "luxury" brand. It's not.
They get it because they can't afford a real luxury car aka german luxury. That's why i said it was poverty.
Obviously they're good cars. Because it's toyota, and toyota is top notch in terms of dependability.
But that's what i mean. These days a new camry has the same power, the same comfort, same reliability, updated interior, updated features, updated infotainment. But people wanna pay 10k more for a lexus version? Uhh why? Because they can't be seen driving in the same car with a toyota badge?
Lexus has been going to chit the past decade or so. The lexus of the 90s were legit, along with early 2000s. What about when the IS250 first came out? lol
That chit was the WORST. Honestly the slowest car i ever driven with a 6cyl.

Agreed that Lexus is lazy when it comes to performance, but the IS is not a Camry. The interior, feel, handling, sound, and chassis are all different.
I will say that I've driven the Lexus GS and was not impressed. That is definitely an old man's car.
But the IS F Sport is still a good pick for younger guys who want a reliable sporty luxury car that they can keep for more than 5 years, unlike the German cars.*Fulfilling My Destiny Crew*

Toyota doesn't seem to understand, no one gives a shyt about engineering if the car is boring, and Lexus are always boring.
When it comes your time to die, be not like those whose hearts are filled with the fear of death, so that when their time comes they weep and pray for a little more time to live their lives over again in a different way. Sing your death song and die like a hero going home.

Younger guys + want to keep more than 5 years doesn't belong in the same sentence dude.
The youth these days is all about flashy things. So they'll get this IS, and in 3 years want something newer, something that's trending, stylish etc.
Usually younger guys try to get something german. Even if a base ass BMW that makes 200hp, they'll get that because of the badge. At least it's a proper luxury car.
Lexus isn't what it used to be. They aren't doing anything spectacular. That's why a lot of the models they offer do so badly. They are pricing themselves out of the market and only relying on their "reliability" to keep some interest in them.
Well that's what warranties are for. You get a car, and it has a 4 year or 5 year warranty, get that, or you can lease it, and in 3 years dump it for another new car.

I disagree, I have two that I bought new. One is 15 and the other is 8. Many people I know do as well, what’s the point of buying a new car that highly depreciates every few years? I haven’t had a car payment in years and my insurance is dirt cheap
Edit: and you made my point. The kind of person who wants a new vehicle all the time, will most likely not be looking at a LexusLast edited by blazenbb; 07-13-2020 at 08:01 PM.
