Used GS350 here. Toyota quality and reliability, upscale design, interior luxury, ok power. Looks faster than it really is. Pretty good for my daily driver beater. Should last me 150+k miles before I decide to upgrade.

Want a sports car, get a sports car. If you want a sports sedan, then yes get German car, but there are huge trade offs for that extra 100-200 horsepower I would never get to enjoy in bumper to bumper traffic.

I'm gonna hold on to naturally aspirated engines as long as I can. No thanks to turbos for daily driving.

Lexus quality is top notch and comparable with Euro cars of the same class. Yes they are underpowered but you get a reliable vehicle that will last forever with basic maintenance.
You run into issues in higher mile vehicles that are FI'd and NA pushing out a lot of power.

We already know if they wanted they can make bad ass sports cars. They've done it before.

They're reliable because they are the same basic car they've been making for 20 years with none of the tech competitors use to get higher performance and meet emissions and mpg requirements

I have no idea how Toyota managed to get away with that but more power to them. They make the perfect car for people who don't especially enjoy driving and don't want to have to deal with expensive repairs after 5 years like youd have to with real luxury cars

The youth these days is all about flashy things. So they'll get this IS, and in 3 years want something newer, something that's trending, stylish etc.

Usually younger guys try to get something german. Even if a base ass BMW that makes 200hp, they'll get that because of the badge. At least it's a proper luxury car.

Lexus isn't what it used to be. They aren't doing anything spectacular. That's why a lot of the models they offer do so badly. They are pricing themselves out of the market and only relying on their "reliability" to keep some interest in them.

I disagree, I have two that I bought new. One is 15 and the other is 8. Many people I know do as well, what’s the point of buying a new car that highly depreciates every few years? I haven’t had a car payment in years and my insurance is dirt cheap
