What's up world. It's been a while since I've been on here. I figured this forum would have been dead and gone by now since it's a shell of its former self.
Guess I was wrong. A lot has happened since my last post in November last year. Long story short I've had issues with a lower back strain that has resulted in continual lower back tightness throughout the day.
When it first occurred I couldn't train at all and had to take some time to recover. I finally got to a point where I was able to train again but had to alter some things. One was going from a conventional to a sumo deadlift to take the strain off my lower back. I've had to drop weight significantly in lifts to slowly build back up and not lift like an idiot.
With that said I intend to keep this log active again. I'm running 5/3/1 and in the 3rd week of my first cycle. I opted to go with the original 5/3/1 where you're hitting amraps on the third set. So far things have been going great and feeling great.
So instead of dropping all my training for the last 3 weeks, I'll post my most recent training from yesterday and just go from there with logging.

This morning's training was great. When it comes to my sumo deadlift I felt today my positioning was a lot better. I was able to get more upright which to my understanding is something you want to shoot for when it comes to pulling sumo. Each set felt great and my top set (AMRAP set) felt good and strong. Your sumo looks REALLY good, especially considering it's a relatively new lift for you. It almost looks like you could sit back just a little to get even more upright, but it might just look that way to me because of the camera angle. And 260 is looking pretty light for you.

Man was it beyond hot in my gym. Based on my gym clock it got up to 100 degrees during training. The top set of my sumo deadlift took everything out of me. By the end of the set I was just ready to be done with training. I just did some basic accessory work and just called it seeing as I just felt like passing out lol.

I'm happy with how my sumo deadlift has been going. Each session it's feeling better and better. I'm pleased with how my AMRAP set felt. I could of pushed for 2 more reps but wanted to leave those in the tank to make sure they didn't turn into grinders.

Well I went off the script so to speak this morning. I worked up to my training max for next cycle. Things felt good but seeing as I never pushed my sumo to see where it's at I figured I'd work up to 1 heavy single.
