Seems like many supports this but also, many are angry because it will spread the virus more. That most church goers do not even believe in medicine/science but instead, just faith, so they will be spreading it.

I think churches should’ve never been closed. There’s no reason to believe Walmart or a liquor store would be safer than a church. If people want to go they should be allowed to go. But of course people are complaining about it. For one, they don’t like to see things opening up, and that could be for various reasons. With each opening it’s becoming more and more apparent that we overreacted, and they don’t like to be proven wrong for some reason. Some may actually like the fact that the government gets to dictate our lives more, and maybe it makes them feel safer, like someone is in control. And some probably just don’t like religions, so any attack on them is a good thing in their eyes. On that note, are there actually people who believe most churchgoers don’t believe in medicine?

Keep everything closed and impinging against our constitutional rights. Might as well become a communist regime, such as Russia and China. (Not SRS)

religious places should ve been the first to close and last to open.
religious places were documented to be the initial spreaders of covid-19 in lot of asian countries.
but trump is also pandering to evangelicals so its obvious why hes doing this.F*ck Joe Biden

Which Asians countries were those? Other than one South Korean church I don’t know of any other examples. Also, did you think maybe Trump realizes that both the right to peaceably assemble and freedom of religion are supposed to be guaranteed to us because of the constitution?+positive crew+

I think it was necessary at first to close - why exempt places of worship if its serious? You can always livestream Church or whatever anyways.
But I agree with the last sentence - are there people who believe Church goers dont believe in medicine lol just lol.
Thats the biggest myth - like Church people dont believe in science - even though there are hundreds of thousands of church goers as Doctors and Scientists just lol at that secular misconception.
Another one: Church goers believe in 'flat earth theories'.

They’re obviously just trying to minimize the places people could catch it. Food is essential so Walmart is open, yeah you could get Covid there. But why open up another venue people could get it at? Such as a church.
Hypocritically I think they should have kept the gyms open./\^/\^Misc Colorado Crew^/\^/\

The real issue is Trump going full potato talking about how he'll force the governors to open them up if they don't do it on their own. Once again, proving he's a fascist at heart, and his base is slurping it up.

- Walmarts have people constantly in and out all day every day. That aisle you you just walked down? Within the last hour 100 people have walked down it, with at least a few possibly coughing and sneezing. And you don’t know who has touched what. Meanwhile I’d say the majority of churches have less than 100 people on any given Sunday, and they certainly aren’t shoulder to shoulder. Plus no one has been in there all week, compared to Walmart which has seen a practically nonstop stream of people. But, as gixxer pointed out, it’s not up to the government to decide when it isn’t and isn’t safe for people to attend religious gatherings. If a pastor wants to hold church and people want to attend they have the right to do it. I’d feel much safer in a church than in a hospital, nursing home, Walmart, and most other public places. Of course, in hindsight we drastically overreacted on lots of fronts so not only should churches have remained open, but practically everything else short of maybe concerts and sporting events should’ve remained open as well. Come on son.

He's always been a fascist. His problem is the constitution was geniusly crafted to prevent fascists from getting a footing.
Doing more with the virus has nothing to do with trying to assert that he has ultimate authority over the states. That's just potato, fascist talk.djt = light

That's a separate issue, but yes, you yahoos have the right to booze up as much as you want, cordless bungee jump, sky surf without a parachute, rock climb without ropes, etc., but the moment your behavior endangers others, it's different.
As far as what I think or don't think about what should be closed or opened, I standby the 3-phase guidelines to reopening America.djt = light

Lots of things people do endangers others. There could be drivers on the road who pose a danger to me, but I still choose to drive after considering the dangers and I do my best to drive in a way that minimizes those risks. No one is forcing anyone to go to church. If you think the danger is too great then stay home. I know a lot of people like to think the govt. must save us from ourselves, but plenty of states seem to indicate that isn’t the case.
As far as the reopening, we’ll just agree to disagree. I do appreciate the fact that you can put your hatred of Trump aside and support the guidelines he put in place though.+positive crew+

Trump just declared houses of worship essential. Mounting evidence shows they're super-spreader hotspots
https://www.businessinsider.com/hous...otspots-2020-5
Following a 2.5-hour choir practice attended by 61 persons, including a symptomatic index patient, 32 confirmed and 20 probable secondary COVID-19 cases occurred (attack rate = 53.3% to 86.7%); three patients were hospitalized, and two died. Transmission was likely facilitated by close proximity (within 6 feet) during practice and augmented by the act of singing.

COVID 19 can spread through breathing, talking
https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC7205645/
You’re at much less risk of catching the novel coronavirus by touching a contaminated surface than by standing close to people, the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention recently clarified on its website.
The subtle change, on a CDC page, emphasizes that the virus spreads easily between people, through droplets that spread up to around two metres or six feet away, when an infected person coughs, sneezes or talks. These droplets then land in the mouths or noses of others, or are possibly inhaled into the lungs.
