Same here! I sold off some Fitness Gear plates for $1/lb...which is way more than I bought them for. And the people were head over heels happy.

Thanks! That's what I was thinking! Kinda thinking of going w/ the IM pro or one of the REP offerings if this sells.

It's amazing how desperate people are right now. Those Golds Gym db handles are the lowest quality handles I've ever seen. The spinlock threads run the entire length of the bar, even under the soft rubber grip. Tighten the plates enough, and the rubber splits. Absolute trash, and people are paying $45-$50 a pair.

Yeah the ones I sold I wouldn't even pay $5 for them. I had another guy offer more plus discounts on supplements. Made me think if he sells supplements wtf would he want standard plates , let alone 26#. They don't have a choice, Amazon's delivery is weeks to months out, ETE dealers over here are 2 months out for delivery plus Rogue etc. Even when the lockdown is lifted the general pop won't head back to the gym in fear of germs.

I managed to find a set of four 10# standard plates with the oversized holes for my 1.15" dumbbell handles earlier today. Cost me about $1.80/lb, but that includes shipping.

Supposedly they had 13 sets left when I ordered mine, but they disappeared quickly. They were sold out by the time I got ready to post the link here.

I already have the 200lb chrome spinlock set from Amazon, and these are just to bump them up a bit. Wish I could've snagged some matching chrome plates, but I'll take what I can get.

That's solid! Keep that link and look for a "page monitor" phone app or chrome extension for availability changes. Kids these days are smart and sell product links.

Im out. Sold all my cheap plates and a few other things. Straight profit was around $1800. Cheapo weights went from $1.58/lb up to $2/lb. 3x-4x the normal price.

Unfortunately or fortunately, it seems like the hysteria is starting to calm around here. I had something else listed at a decent price and barely anyone reached out, so I took the posting down. Lot of talk about things leveling out, which is calming people down. Not to mention, in 3 weeks gyms will probably reopen unless the feds extend the distance thing.

Now to sit back and watch the market flood with used weight equipment and pick up things on the cheap. Prices will start out high but there will be too much supply.

Last week I checked out Fitness Depot and saw that the 90 lb PowerBlock Sport EXPs were $300 more than I paid. I checked this morning and now they're $400 more than I paid. Weight plates that have been a dollar a pound forever, are now $1.80 a pound.

I don't know, PIAS sold all of my urethane grip plates for stupid pricing the same day they got them from me. They actually had some of them sold before they picked them up and paid me. Still nuts to me that I could get exactly what I wanted for the weights without being exposed to 20 different potential virus-carrying morons, and they still turned around and made good profit.

I'd be really surprised to see the gyns reopen anytime soon. I do expect supply to catch up with demand for new equipment within the next month or so, especially from domestic suppliers. Those importing from China may take a bit longer to get back to normal.

Once this happens, the used equipment prices should drop rapidly.

Wow...I sold off a few hundred lbs of Dicks fitness gear plates for .75 lb and thought I did ok.. I wish I held on to them but hindsight is always 20/20 vision.

The listings on Bowflex and Powerblocks is insane . $1200 for 5-52.5 lb bowflex with stand $1200 .Nuts.

I've found that basic "need" items have gone quickly, and for crazy prices. I sold a bunch of plates that I wasn't planning on selling, but I didn't really need to keep. I've listed a handful of specialty items--Black Widow 1 Arm Row Handle, Kettlebell Swing Handle, and a few other things at fairly reasonable prices and gotten zero interest.

How would that IM Pro be for decline bench and ab work? I've heard mixed reviews with the other bench, but not yet anything from the pro.

Loving mine so far. My only drawback is the when doing inclines the seat can be a bit of a ball buster. Have to make sure everything's in place, the seat is a little smaller than my PowerTec is. But I love the incline angle selections, I can get at 30 degrees which I prefer for inclines. My PT was always somewhere closer to 45 degrees it felt. The decline is much more comfortable than my PT ever was. I ordered the preacher attachment since it's showing as being back in stock, was out of stock when I ordered it. Pissed me off since it kept me from meeting one of IronMaster's discount pricing levels.

How would you say they made the decline component of this better out of curiosity? Really primarily interested in this as a decline work...I love the idea of all the possible training angles of this thing and the ability to upgrade with attachments.

It's phenomenal for decline work, with the lower pad on the leg hold a little lower than the upper pads you feel locked in at all times. The only thing I have noticed with decline was what someone else mentioned, it's almost like the bench has a little 'flex' which is strange because it feels solid in just about any other position. Not something that's bad to the point of feeling unstable, but you can notice it the steeper you have the decline.

AWESOME! Thank you for posting, I have been waiting for that one to be in stock and just submitted my order. Plan on pulling it up to the low pulley on the BodySolid and creating my own cable curl machine, going to be AMAZING! Started writing my review and had it up to three pages, but I feel like the conclusion is really all that needs to be said: It's the 'Best All-Around Adjustable Bench' on the market for home use.

Edit: Better put a disclaimer on that, some jack-hole will end up try to compare it to a 150lb commercial bench 2-3x it's price. It's the best all-around adjustable bench in terms of design, functionality, versatility, and affordability. There is literally no situation where this bench will not perform well, which is why I'm saying it's the 'Best All-around Adjustable Bench'.

The decline on my PowerTec FID was uncomfortable to unusable when trying to hook my feet under the bottom support, it honestly felt like my tibia was going to break. I had to hook my toes under the piece that your knees were supposed to bend over, if that makes sense. Never tried anything heavier than 45lb decline dumbbell flies on the PowerTec. It's pretty much the same on my PowerTec lever gym, but I feel more comfortable doing decline presses on that. The IronMaster just works for me ergonomically in the decline position. The know I heard about the original IronMaster was that it was too high, same gripe I had about my PowerTec FID. The IronMaster Pro is much shorter and when doing incline dumbbell presses I'm able to knee up heavier dumbbells in position much easier. The catalyst for me was being on vacation in Reno in Feb and using a gym in the casino where we stayed. They had an amazing hotel gym and the incline bench was commercial grade and much lower to the ground. It made me want to find something lower and closer to commercial grade (without the $1000+ price tag). The IronMaster Pro is a winner for me. Free shipping and I was sold. It's the first thing I've paid retail for since the PowerTec FID over 15 years ago. Now I'm thinking of getting the IM 2000 and ditching my rack.

It could be that the mass amount of buyers right now are just looking for the basic stuff since most of them are probably only thinking short term, 1 or 2 months. They are predicting gyms will open up soon and they don't want to build up a home gym that will no longer be used. Funny thing is if this virus situation lasts much longer than predicted or if first time home gym folks start liking home gyms even after gyms reopen, the market for specialty items then will see huge demands.

I wish I bought some more stuff during the winter. There were several items I was on the fence about. Now they are all sold out.

Well, I am done selling. Got a buyer for my Concept2 at $1200 and he wanted to buy everything in my garage when he saw it. This was fun.

I understand supply and demand but I truly believe taking advantage of this situation is wrong. I am currently struggling with a disability so my training is pretty limited so if anyone is in the Central Florida area and would like to purchase some equipment, I would sell some of what I have at a fair price. I have a Inspire Fitness FT1 Functional Trainer (with the heavy stacks option) and a Cap+ Adjustable Bench (this is the bench that is a very close copy to the Legend Bench). Both are in mint condition kept in my air conditioned home gym. Feel free to PM me if interested. I am not actively listing these for sale anywhere else and will keep them if there is no interest. I am merely looking out for my fellow members.

None of my equipment would have ever been listed if there was not such an increase in demand. The only reason I sold was because the prices were too good to pass up on and thus, the supply of available gym equipment increased and two people were able to workout when they wouldn't have before. I get the argument that buying up all the equipment you can and then selling it at inflated prices is wrong but simply selling what you already have because the market demand is through the roof is completely different.

Being a gun owner, I have experienced many supply shortages due to various panics, just like now, and no one thinks twice at selling those items at market prices to take advantage of the situation. Gym equipment isn't any different, this is just the first time we have seen a panic occur before. Sucks to get caught with your pants down but if you sell anything at pre-panic prices all that is going to do is sell faster and leave you with less money.

FYI, I just got an email from IM that the preacher attachment has already shipped. That was fast. They used FedEx ground for the bench and regular FedEx for the decline attachment, probably the same for the preacher attachment.

I would agree if we were talking about food, water, medication and other needs. Gym equipment isn't a need; it's a want - a luxury. If one cannot afford a luxury item, one should not be buying said item.

    Agreed.

Didn't we go through all this BS on page #1 of this thread?

Supply vs demand, and the market determines the value. Hoarding food, water, medicine, hand sanitizer, toilet paper, etc during a time of crisis so you can get rich makes you a first class ****bag.

Making money off people who are willing to overpay for luxury items is simply good business.

Sirs, you have forgotten that this is America, where stupid people are regularly encouraged to buy luxury items that they can't afford.

I look forward to the entitled folk getting uppity when they realize they won't be getting even half of their money back out of the Fitness Gear plates they panic bought.

It's the first thing I've paid retail for since the PowerTec FID over 15 years ago. Now I'm thinking of getting the IM 2000 and ditching my rack.
Thanks for the feedback on the Ironmaster Pro, incidently I sold off my old Powertec FID bench as well (the version with racking hooks) landed up selling it for $200 and since meeting at a local location, the person gave me an extra $20 tip.

I had since sold my very first standard bench press which I used to use after all my rack work with the good equipment, in particular I would use the decline feature for decline pullovers which are a great underrated movement.

I might have to look into the Ironmaster Pro myself due to the decline feature (I currently have two FI benches which are the Rogue 2.0 Adjustable for barbell work in the rack and the Legend 3-Way bench for dumbbell and cable work).

Also its modularity of different attachments sounds good and to in particular replace that garbage leg extension/hamstring curl attachment on that Powertec one and I agree the Powertec's decline angle sucks.

One thing I think that would be a cool idea is for Ironmaster to have a unilateral/bilateral lever arm attachment for the bench.

Please get that review up man! The pro may very well be my next bench purchase. Don't want to muddy up this thread with more questions...
