Couple of deaths in US that were recorded as pneumonia several weeks ago but now confirmed as coronavirus

So here’s my thoughts... I live in Vegas which somehow has completely avoided a positive so far. Around the beginning of January everyone here was extremely sick with what the doctors said was flu B, however everyone ended up with a cough for weeks after. I’ve never known a fly to cause a cough, but that’s what the doctors called it.

Around the middle of December Vegas has a huge influx of Asians from China in addition to CES in early January. Although they said the virus started spreading in January in China they do know that they can trace some of it back as early as November.

My thought is that in many metropolitan areas the virus was already here a month or two ago and made everyone really sick and those that died were chalked up to flu or pneumonia deaths.

Why is it that they’re very few cases popping up in major cities but many on the outskirts? This is just my theory and I think back in January it was spreading but we weren’t testing for it. With the confirmation that the Spain guy died on February 13th from the virus earlier that we thought it spread there is no way that magically the virus arrived in the U.S. this late. I think depending on your health or age this was probably extremely mild for most of us but just felt like a nasty cold or flu earlier this year

I think this. It seems to be like a very contagious form of the flu. I know an above average amount of people who had the flu back in January and February. All recovered though.

I've come to the conclusion after some interactions with coworkers that no matter how vigilant I am, they are going to fuk me. This is why everyone dies but they think they're gonna be the ones to make it.

It's a mix of annoyance for daring to bring it up, scoffing, and straight up it's just a flu brah. Even people talking about making plans to go to big crowded events.


Basically people are self absorbed fuking *******s.

+1. I'm taking precautions to limit me and my families exposures to this ****, but when I think about all the other people in the office who don't give a ****, it really pisses me off.

There have been a couple people who have been sick for 2-3 weeks and still coming to work. Most people don't have considerations for others. Folks are still traveling and going to large crowded events. Going to close my office door with a sign that says to call me if you need anything.

Nothing us regular people can really do since we don't have the resources to bug out for months without impacts to life or job.

Just changing polices and adding layers of protection for guests that are deemed potentials. too much to go into, but Vegas is ready to quarantine if needed.

I have to say this would seem like a pretty "duh" thing for the US administration to do. Something like:

"As a precautionary measure we ask that all businesses encourage sick workers to stay at home, particularly if they have been running a fever. While the virus may be spread by those who are asymptomatic this is not the time to enforce normal attendance policies. We expect most cases to be mild, however 2-3 weeks is not an unusual duration for this illness and we are still ramping up the availability of testing. This is especially vital for workers that have a lot of customer contact."

I have enough food (including condiments, water, soda, drinks, etc) to last me 2 months on my cut, and probably 4 months afterwards for bulking.

Have already started working from home (STEM brah).

Renewed WoW subscription, got plenty of gaming backlog, bunch of reading to do, gonna try no fap again.

Only reason I'll ever need to leave the house is for a biweekly work meeting. Das it mane.
