First off... been A LONG time since I've been on these boards and since I've used supps. Hey, life happens right....
So, I'm getting back into the swing of things and wanted to start using a Pre again. Been away so long I started looking at what's new out there, etc. It seems to me more and more people are going the route of making their own pre. So since I never considered this route, I have a few questions.
1. Do you find it cheaper when you make your own?
2. What would you consider absolutely critical to add, and what are some things you could or could not add?
Thanks

I don't think more and more people are making their own pre. It's not usually worth the time, effort, or even cost, unless by pre you mean caffeine and citrulline and that's about it.
Critical? Caffeine.
If you have to ask these questions I'd say save your time and effort and just buy a pre and get on with it

I'll mix some different stuff together, but I use other products (i.e. adding stim free pre with stimmed pre, or just adding creatine to a pre). I don't know anyone that mixes their own anymore. Most pres out there are pretty complete and well dosed these days. Plus, the flavoring aspect.Supplement a good diet: don't diet on supplements.

Hyphy mud
Not 100% srs
For real though, anything that gives a caffeine + sugar kick will get you moving. I usually have a banana and shot of espresso 30min pre.. if you need something stronger, take a double dose of caffeine. If you need something stronger, convince yourself that you dont.. imoThe only way to do something is to do it

I'm just coming back to the game myself, your post brought me out from the shadows lurking.
looks like supplements have come a helluva way when I used to make my own
Electrolyte powder
Beta Alanine
ephedrine
Caffeine
Taurine
1,3 Dimethylamylamine (think they made it illegal now though)
Citruline Malate
L-Arginine HCL (correct me if I'm wrong, but I've glanced that arginine gone to **** now too?)
Vitamin B Complex
Tyrosine
I'm hella rusty though, fresh off the "life" bandwagon too. But I'm slowly making a comeback to lifting heavy
Just did my first heavy deads the other day in over 12 months of no serious lifting, 145kg x 6 150kg x 5 160kg x 2 (though I couldn't help myself and used a grenade sample for pre workout ahh)2020 Comeback from hiatus. Time to get blench
Running a Max-OT style routine to get the wheel turning
