Changing things up to get back on track after a few years.
Who's had better results doing the simple changes like drinking black coffee and taking natural herbs in a pill or tea form like ashwaghanda to help reduce stress levels?

When I'm cutting, I switch from whole milk in my coffee (2 per day) to black coffee, which contributes 320 calories to my deficit. The caffeine is also good for reducing appetite.

I don't know about less stress levels with black coffee. But I started for a short while putting almond milk based creamer substitutes in my coffee and experienced bloating to my stomach which stressed me out. Went back to drinking it straight black and it's gone. The gym relives my normal daily stress levels.

That was what I was thinking!! If I had my usual daily amount of coffee with that many calories bloody hell I would have nearly 2000 calories in just coffee.
As for the OP question can't say I have felt anything by drinking coffee certainly doesn't suppress my appetite. I do drink a lot though so my tolerance is very high from the effects of caffeine (aka nothing). For cutting all I did was change to sweeteners (and have stayed with them) as for the milk I will happily eat less instead of not enjoying my coffee as much.Last edited by hardyboysare; 12-28-2019 at 07:03 AM.

Switching to black coffee and diet pop is one of the best and easiest ways to cut calories out of your normal routine. One thing i have realized while cutting is that these kinds of changes that are easy and become habit like never drinking a sugar pop not only have a huge impact but are super easy to adhere too and well worth it. I am really starting to see the appeal of diets that exclude certain foods because while an if it fits your macros approach does work it becomes much easier to fit those macros and naturally make good choices when you just make hard fast rules like no sugar pop and I think applying that thinking to mcdonalds cheeseburgers and alcohol and the like takes a lot less active will power and forms good natural habits.

Every morning I drink a French press full of coffee, combined with a cup of 2% fairlife milk. I think that's about 24 oz of coffee + 8 oz milk.
I don't like my hot coffee sweet but I do like sweet iced coffee. I just use Sweet n Low for that. I love SnL in my iced coffee and tea (actually prefer the taste to sugar.)
I use no-sugar creamer (15 calories/tbsp) - whether bulking or cutting, it tastes good and is low calorie, a cup of coffee is about 20 calories total with it.

I think he is drinking a flat white according to my coffee analysis skills.
https://www.starbucks.com/menu/produ...%2Fflat-whites
Me just a standard cup of black instant coffee with a small amount of milk with two sweeteners. Either instant powder or from the cafetiere can't be waiting for all that milk foaming stuff takes way too long.
Coffee flavoured milk basically :-) nice though just too high in calories for a cut.

Yep, black coffee all the way when cutting - no sugar, creamer or sweetener needed.
