    benching problem

Ive been on rippetoes for a while now.. my 5RM on bench press has increased from 135 to 195 but now that its heavier whenever i take the bar off the rack, my shoulder starts to hurt and it last through the whole workout. Does anyone else have this problem? I workout at home and have no spotter.

see a doctor...warm your shoulders up every day and stretch them your shoulders arent something to take lightly

Had the exact same problem, and I'm afraid to tell you the only way to fix it is rest. I took two weeks off training and it healed itself.

Usually it's tendonitis in the shoulder, and it will only get worse if you continue to work it.

EDIT: But definitely see a doctor or a physio, as they will be able to give you an accurate diagnosis.

yeah it took a while for my shoulder to heal.
I think I got it from reaching behind my head trying to lift the bar off the rack. just find someone in the future (dad, friend) who is willing to help ease the bar off the rack.

shoulder injuries can be serious. you should just rest and see a doctor. letting a shoulder injury go will just make it worse and worse.
