I'm training for endurance and I'm finding it unclear just how the body improves its aerobic and cardiovascular fitness since it's not a muscle. I'm wondering what supplements would be the equivalent to protein for cardio post workout or post training.
I'm guessing herbs or minerals that facilitate angionesis in the working muscle groups and things that increase red blood cell count and hemoglobin. I don't know how much cardiac tissue strength is a thing or not. Is there anything I'm missing?

Wot..
No supplements are going to increase CV fitness or V02max. The only way to do this is by increasing your CV fitness through consistent training. A few things that could potentially aid in your journey are:
-mild caffeine (too much will increase cardiac output and be ergolytic)
-citrulline
-beta-alanine
-cordyceps
Live high (altitude). Train low (altitude).Supplement a good diet: don't diet on supplements.
