Democrat Side:
The Dem side is trying to get the message out about what the Mueller Report has been stating. A lot of people, have never read the Mueller Report. So what the dems are doing is reciting passages of the Mueller report, Mr Mueller repeating "Yes, that's correct", because it's IN the report, then the Dems reiterating their message, "No one is above the law". Multiple people in the report have been prosecuted, or have continuing on-going investigations, for the same things Trump has done. They are setting examples in the report itself.

They are trying to use that to create a narrative that Trump obstructed justice.

Republican Side:
The Republicans are trying to discredit Mueller and his report. The line of questioning actually tries a lot to go beyond the scope of the investigations and present it as biased against the Trump campaign during 2016-2017. They are trying to cite that those who worked on Trump's campaign for unlawfully targeted while the DNC was given free pass.

Just LISTEN to the tone of each side as they question Mueller. One side is attacking Mueller with questions that for the most part, Mueller cannot legally answer, and the other side is just quoting the Report, and drawing conclusions that Mueller cannot answer.

Kind of exactly what happened to Barr? Now lets compare testimony between the two?

Dems tried to prop up Mueller, but Mueller seems either disinterested or confused or is dealing with some form of dementia because he has been stuttering and stammering his way to nothing-ness. I expected Mueller to be evasive and boring, but I did not expect for him to stumble his way through this. He looks anything but impressive.

The Republicans are attack dogs, which is an easier job than what the Dems are trying to do, because they have a witness who has no interest in being detailed. So when you attack him and he comes off as evasive it makes Mueller look weak.

All in all, this is a bad day for Mueller and the Dems. Personally, I don't think Mueller cares how this plays out but I do know that he can't be thrilled with his performance on a national stage. It's a little embarrassing for him.

This statement isn't really even true.

The funniest thing to me about the Mueller thing is the media really latched onto the "Well, he can't prosecute because he's President." Well, what's keeping Mueller from charging Trump associates with those crimes and indicting Trump as a co-conspirator? Those people aren't President, so what gives?

It pretty much shuts down the entire narrative.

no, the guy I am thinking about disappeared a little while after the Mueller report was released - he argued that Trump was no exonerated from conspiring with Russia, in fact that he found several tidbits of "evidence" that he had but he couldn't keep up the charade and hasn't been seen for awhile

Now we know why he didn't want to testify. He is horrible when he gets off his script. Not sure if it is stage fright or he seriously is dealing with dementia, but he has hurt himself more than he has helped/hurt Trump/Dems/Republicans.

I kind of feel bad for the man. I personally don't think he came into this with an agenda. I think he was tasked with a job. He did his job and was likely pressured to leave in the part about obstruction to make some on his staff happy. The reality is that he had no business dumping a bunch of negative implications about obstruction unless it was part of an indictment. It wasn't his job to build a case for a future trial in 10 years.
