Do you honestly believe market returns are based on one weighted average only? The S & P is a collection of stocks. Some up. Some down. But overall the average of all those stocks is up 30% year over year.

However, most people invest in individual stocks or funds weighted in stocks from a certain sector like oil or commodities or solar or water or tech or what have you.

For example my returns this year are up about 800%....and I only play individual stocks and some options.

Saying the Dow or Nas or S & P is only up 30% for the year so therefore that is the most anyone can be up is not understanding how the markets work.

I don't have a financial guy. And yes I should do it as a job. And no, I have no idea what I am doing, but whatever it is, it seems to work really well.
