Guess since it's ramping up, we may as well have ONE thread to discuss the trades going on.
So far:
- LAL/NOLA: agreement in place to trade AD from NOLA to Lakers for Lonzo, Ingram, Hart, #4 pick in 2019, two future FRP, pick swap rights
- LAL/NOLA/???: Lakers trying to package their remaining young guys (Wagner, Bonga, Jones) to a third team ON THE BACK of the AD trade to create another max slot
Yesterday:
- Al Horford declining his option and testing free agency, rumors that a 4-year/100mil deal may be waiting for him
- Kyrie allegedly set on Nets
Today:
- MEM/Jazz: Mike Conley traded to Jazz for Jae Crowder, Kyle Korver, Draft Picks

That was one reason why the Lakers were not super keen on keeping #4, it comes with a 7m cap hit ... damn, these rookie contracts are tricky now.
Kuzma on 2mil looks like a genius chip to have if you are the Lakers.
What? No - Middleton will just negotiate a new deal with the Bucks and stay. Only a mad man would leave Giannis right now, especially with no Kawhi next year in the East.Banging in Hong Kong 2017, Europe Roadtrip 2018, planned: Mt. Kilimanjaro 2019. <- never happened, broke my leg, fml

Interested in seeing where D'Lo ends up, likely Kyrie signs with the Nets and they'll let Russell go if that happens, he's gonna demand serious money coming off the back of an all star selection and he's turning out real nice, ironic the Lakers ditched Randle and Russell in favour of Ingram and Lonzo who they both just traded and seem to be the lesser talents.
Surprised nobody seems to be making a bigger push for him or atleast it's not being reported that teams are.RIP BIG RICHARD

Lowry and FVV are known for their defense. Even then, I think certain matchups and line-ups could have exposed their lack of height.
Kemba isn't exactly known to be a savant on that end either, then again neither is Curry although he isn't as terrible as people think. But I think they would do better with filling out their roster with some good shooters and defenders. AD and Lebron isn't enough to carry a team to a championship. Even if you got Kemba you still need a team 7-8 deep who you can count on. AD and Lebron aren't exactly ironmen either and need breaks, which is where they will need certain guys who can fill in well and have production not completely take a nosedive.

yeah the new rookie contracts make it even tougher for the tank crowd.
i actually like to look at it this trend: players are picking where they want to go regardless of existing contract situation
its better to be semi-good and recruit a superstar than be really bad and accumulate assets
I think the 3 and D approach makes most logical sense, but then you had 0 ball handlers besides LBJ.
Cant just run LBJ out there for 48 minutes and quality backup PG play (let alone starters) dont come cheap.
Yeah they need one more ball handler on the perimeter and its hard to get that without paying up for Kemba.
The thing is, with $24M, how many "certain guys who can fill in well" can you get? Gonna have to pay up in excess for these role players★|★ Seahawks ★|★ Mariners ★|★

I think the days of the LBJ offense where he drives and kicks to shooters is over. He just doesn't have it in the tank to do that all game long for an entire series anymore. They need another offensive creator and as good as Anthony Davis is I'm not sure if it will be him
