I recently started deadlifting in my workout and I noticed that always after the session, my lower back feels sore (in a bad way) and when I look in the mirror I am more in anterior pelvic tilt than normal. Is this a bad thing, is it because my arched is anteriorly tilted (opposite of rounded) during the deadlift?

First, if you are experiencing pain in your low back following deadlifts, then yes, this is a bad thing. Normally, you might experience some muscle-type soreness, but soreness "in a bad way" is not good. Second, how exactly are you measuring this anterior pelvic tilt? Unless it is drastically different, just visually observing it might make you think it's worse than it actually is. Also, how long does it last? If it's immediately post-deadlifting, then it might just be compensation from your form, or for the discomfort in your low back. Remember to brace your core tightly when deadlifting and focus on not hyperextending your low back, but rather maintaining a neutral position. If your low back discomfort and anterior pelvic tilt last for a while after you're done deadlifting, then it might be an issue that needs to be addressed more extensively, but it could just be excessive hyperextension of the low back - remember, aim for neutral.

Have you had someone check your form lately? The pain may be caused by bad form.
It seems your muscles are pretty fatigued after lifting, so you aren't activating your core muscles to suck your hips in, which causes you to stick your butt out and put you more in a APT position. This then causes a chain reaction which causes certain muscles to ache/be sore. Try strengthening your core and really focus on keeping your hips sucked in after lifting.NC Crew
