They need to teach Roman numerals again so movie sequels can be titled properly. I'm disgusted by what I see these days. It's John Wick III, you degenerates.

Honestly surprised that most people didn't already know that we use Arabic numbers...but then again, I might be a bit biased. Awhile back I was interested in some aspects of numerical perception which prompted some research into the origins of certain numerical concepts and number systems. I suspect most people don't share those interests so maybe I shouldn't be surprised at what they don't know.

I encourage them to teach our children arabic numerals. It will be good for them in the long run.

The numbers 0-9 ARE Arabic numerals. As an Engineer, I couldn't function without them. I have no idea how to add, subtract, multiply or divide with anything else. I have no idea how to calculate anything without Arabic numerals. Sure, I understand Roman numerals but I have no idea how to calculate using Roman numerals. I mean VII x V = XXXV. But I have to translate to the Arabic 7x5 to get the answer and then translate back to Roman numerals. There's no way to do calculations in Roman numerals that I know of. My calculator accepts nothing but Arabic numbers.
Other than Arabic and Roman, what other numeral system even exists? I can't imagine.Last edited by Dave76; 05-24-2019 at 10:51 PM.
