Lost my older sister, but her lifestyle wasn't the best and she smoked right up until the Grim Reaper came knocking.
Once again James misses an easy baseball question but knows the longest river in Italy, what kind of professional sports gambler is he anyway.
Would appreciate a run down after tomorrow's show, I'm unable to catch the show.

I didn't see it, but I wonder if he was asked to lose.Helping one person may not change the world, but it could change the world for one person.

I don't think Jeopardy! asked him to lose. Their ratings went way down when they had a two week Teacher's Championship. Maybe James decided to tank it, but I don't think so. He's a professional gambler and had to be making more on Jeopardy! than in the casinos. In double Jeopardy, he got neither of the Daily Doubles and he made his fame by huge bets on Double Jeopardy and he got neither of them. The only thing that makes me think he might have thrown the match was his meager wager in Final Jeopardy. Unusual for him considering that he never missed the answer.
It was a great run. Sorry to see him go, but glad that I witnessed it. He was a great champion, second of all time.

He did the math. She had to bid a certain amount to beat him (if he bid it all) so he needed to have enough to beat her and the guy in the middle if he (James) got it wrong, the guy in the middle got it right, and the girl got it wrong. If he bid everything and got it wrong he would have lost even if she got it wrong as well.
The low bid was playing the odds for his best chance to win.

But he was in second place at the time. He didn't even bet enough to get to the first place number. He was still in second before they revealed the lady's answer. He was betting that she would miss the question AND bet enough to get below him.
Hey, he's a professional gambler. I'm sure he knew his odds, and selected what he thought to be the best option. You don't win every bet.

I must the only one who really did not care for the guy. No personality ir something, I dont know for sure but he did nothing for me.

Well, he seemed like an ok modest introverted guy. He wasn’t all loud and in your face...but as someone who watches Jeopardy every night, it was the excitement of the whole thing. Seeing his aggressive wagers and record breaking wins made The Whole thing very exciting. Each day was, “will he win again today? How much will he win? How long will it go? Will he break the last two records? It’s fun to feel like your a part of something memorable unfolding.

Yep, he definitely changed Jeopardy...they were all trying to play like him the last 2 days.
It’s funny, because I instantly “disliked” her for no other reason than she ruined the fun I was having, ha ha. It was like when Lee Haney broke Arnold’s Mr. O record. I was like, HOW DARE HE! I didn’t like him for many years. We humans are odd creatures.
For what it’s worth, in retrospect, Lee Haney probably had the greatest build of all time. The had all the mass, but still had the perfect balance, proportions, and aesthetics. I can’t think of a stage at any time in history where he wouldn’t have had the most impressive all around physique, or any other Mr. O he wouldn’t have crushed.

He visited the PX in Frankfurt back in the 80s gave about 15 or so (iirc) a seminar on bbing and weightlifting. We were talking with him like he’d known us all his life. I still have the shirt he signed. Was a very cool experience. When he hit the double bicep, it was epic.

That makes more sense..
Ok, most of the stuff I've seen online before his loss, his family was ready for him to lose and his 4 yr old daughter would cry every time he won...and by his last wager...he wanted to lose anyways...time to go home and party with his family.
At least that would be my take on his lossMy Log - https://forum.bodybuilding.com/showthread.php?t=170367151&page=50

The internet is stupid, ha ha. People want to attach conspiracy theories to everything. I think what happened (on Jeopardy) is exactly what we saw. The woman (she wasn’t on long enough for us to remember her name, ha ha) knew enough answers, buzzed in fast enough, and got enough daily doubles to win. I mean, it was inevitable sooner or later. She was no slouch, and all champions eventually get bested.
