Oximega is a solid choice with probably the best track record out there for third party testing. Routinely testing for higher EPA/DHA than is claimed on the label and always passing TOTOX and heavy metals tests.

Nordic Naturals, especially after the recent data that has come out about how the problem with fish oil supplementation is the oil being rancid at the point you buy the bottle. Since Nordic Naturals are re-esterified to the TG form, based on their consistent high quality and the more recent data that has come out on fish oil, I find it hard to recommend other brands.
Yes, because the price is actually better than Nordic Naturals if I recall and FlameOut is re-esterified to the TG form.
That's not what the CLA content is there for. It's there for anti-inflammation and it's in a pretty small dose that should not cause glucose resistance problems.
Starting point for a good fish oil supplement should be to look for products which are re-esterified to the TG form. This aids in preventing the oil from being oxidized, many times at the point of sale and oxidized fish oil supplements are actually not good for you.

What if the goal for taking the fish oil was to help control blood pressure issues and overall cardiovascular health. Would this impact which company you recommend and how much daily?

For FlameOut, you really only need 2 capsules a day. The recommended dosing on the label is a bit more than necessary. So that bottle should last you about 40 days or so. If you go with Nordic Naturals, I think that might actually be slightly more expensive since to get equivalent dosing you're looking at roughly 3 capsules a day, so the cost of Nordic Naturals ends up being very similar to that of FlameOut. Both quality products imho.
I would aim for about a gram or so of combined DHA and EPA. So that's basically 2 capsules of FlameOut or 3 capsules of Nordic Naturals (based on the 690 mg per 2 gels bottles).
As for what company to go for, I'm really mainly concerned about the form the DHA and EPA comes in. Most companies use the ethyl ester form as it's simply cheaper to produce (so that's the form they end up with after concentrating the fish oil for DHA and EPA content). Issue with ethyl ester form is that they are less stable and can oxidize both in storage (so in the bottle) and oxidizes easier in the body as well. The re-esterified triglyceride form which Nordic Naturals and FlameOut uses are more stable due to the form and tends to oxidize less both in storage as well as in the body.
Alternatively, just eat more fatty fish man. LoL. That's also very effective in getting more DHA and EPA into the body.Last edited by kissdadookie; 05-07-2019 at 09:34 AM.

I love eating fish but it's hard when you have a family and they don't like eating fish. How accurate is the statement below from Omega Jym
Omega-3 fats may help reduce your risk of coronary heart disease when adding regular exercise.* They also support healthy brain and joint function.* But for those who train, nothing is more exciting than current research suggesting fish oil may help spur muscle growth and support fat loss--when the proper dose of DHA is supplied, that is. That proper dose appears to be 1500 mg of DHA per day with an equivalent dose of EPA, or eicosapentaenoic acid.Training journal: https://forum.bodybuilding.com/showthread.php?t=176692881

No, I mean flameout is damn near $40 for about 20 days worth of fish oil... From my research thus far it seems like the better ones are:
1: Omega Jym $30 for about 30 days 1500mgs of dha and epa. 300mgs dpa.... Solid reviews all around.
2: Flameout $35 for about 44 days 1110 of dha and 440 epa. Solid reviews all around
Nordic naturals just too expensive $30 for 30 days only getting 425mg of dha....Training journal: https://forum.bodybuilding.com/showthread.php?t=176692881
