Hello Guys hope you're doing fine.
Ramadan is coming (fasting for a month from 4 am to 7 pm) so i almost finished my whey bottle. one of my friends said i should buy another one after ramadan is finished, for saving money (since that in ramadan training will not be intense as in rest of the year) ... i was not very convinced by that because i think that i should push a little by using whey so i can try to keep my small muscle mass lol and not to lose it in ramadan.
So guys i need your opinion and help. Thanks

it's diffrent because rest of the year when training i'm gonna push my self to lift more and heavier and the workout will be more intense. in the ramadan my body will not be getting food or water for 15 hours straight so when i will be working out i will reduce the intensity of the workout = my muscle will not be working alot but it may happen that my body will get its energy from muscle cells during the day which will lead some muscle mass loss ... that's why i asked should i take whey protein during ramadan or should i leave it when i'm back to my normal workout routine

what he means is that whey is considered food, and cannot be used during a fast.
OP - unless I'm mistaken, you fast from sun up until sun down during Ramadan, correct? If this is the case, than protein powder can be consumed after sun down and would not interrupt your holy month/holiday. What the others were trying to infer was that whey protein is simply powdered protein, and not anything magical. It provides the body the same/similar benefits as eating a piece of chicken, seafood, or beef. If you are worried about consuming adequate protein amounts during Ramadan, you can absolutely use whey protein to supplement your diet to help make sure you hit your daily protein intake goals.I got no strings to hold me down
