Kawhi and Lowry played pretty below average games. All the talk before the game was Kawhi has to pull a LeBron and go beast mode to win.

He wasn't in top form but he still drew so much attention from their defense that it allowed his teammates a lot of space and open looks. He was smart not to try to force the plays himself if he knew he was off and his teammates were getting it done without him contributing on offense.

Or others had to step up, which Siakam did. 14/17 from the floor and 3 offensive rebounds won't get duplicated again but at least GS will realize they actually have to guard him. Even Gasol was 6/10 and landed 2 threes with massive open looks.

I think GS just underestimated how good some of the other players can be besides Lowry and Kawhi. They won't make that mistake again.

KD is back as soon as everyone agrees that the Warriors need him and aren't a better team without him.

It does seem a little strange to me that he would travel with the team unless (a) he was a reasonable chance of being healthy for game 2, or (b) he is no chance of playing the entire series.

For the finals literally every member of the medical staff and training staff travels with the team. That's why KD went with the team.
