Kicked back at a hotel in Chicago right now as the Airbourne concert ended a bit ago. Fukking loud, I may be deaf for a day or 3. Uber high energy too from the entire band but especially from Joel the lead singer. There were cups of beer being tossed into the audience by the band, at one point Joel rode on a roadies shoulders thru the crowd & played guitar as well as smashed a beer open with his head. If you enjoy high energy, loud as fuk non stop rock then go see these guys. A lot of groups could take cues from them on how to get a crowd whipped up & energized.

Got in on the presales for the two Arctic Monkeys shows in LA, by the time I got into both, all the good seats were gone.
Gonna take my chance on the public sales tomorrow morning.Age: 42

Going to see SHADOW OF INTENT tonight, with INFERI in support. Some other support bands are in place, but those are the ones I'm going for. No kid w/me tonight since it'll be a late one. He's sad, but we do have one later this month to go to together

Revocation last night. Much better than the last time I saw them at a larger venue, not sure if it was the acoustics, the mix, or just one of those days, but I enjoyed it much more this time around. Plus, that earlier one was a short opening set and this one was a headliner.

Saw The Black Dahlia Murder a few weeks ago, for the umpteenth time. 2nd time seeing them w/the "new singer" (RIP Trevor), the only remaining founding member and ex-rhythm guitarist. Awesome show of course.
Last weekend I flew my son and I out to see his favorite band GLORYHAMMER kick off a very infrequent US tour along w/another of his favorites, ALESTORM. Got to meet and hang out w/some band members, got some stuff for his collection, autographs, etc., and just had a phenomenal time. Because of how long we've been waiting for a chance to see them and how he's gotten into music because of them, it all meant so much to us both.Lifting. Hockey. Headbanging.

Going to see Shania this tuesday, was supposed to attend her Vegas concert in 2020 but then a little something came up you may have heard of, Covid?
Then have a Dierks Bentley show outside of Cleveland in a couple weeks, have tickets for the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame there as well.
Other than Trace Adkins at the state fair in august thats all I have so far, pretty light year but it will fill up a bit more.
We did see Reba along with Terry Clark a few weeks ago in milwaukee, was a good show but not outstanding.
I'm still holding out hope that AC/DC tours again, they do have an event planned for southern Californiathis fall along with Metallica, GnR, Ozzy, etc and i'm hoping it's not just a one off event."You know that little thing in your head that keeps you from saying things you shouldn't? I'm going to Power Trip! That package will definitely not be going around together, but hopefully ACDC makes a go of it themselves while they still can. On a related note, I also got Aerosmith tickets for my wife and I. We very rarely get to enjoy a concert together, so we had to do it on our supposed last chance.

I prefer the smaller venues but a lot of groups won't play them because the $$$ isn't there for them. Airborne at the Rock Bottom lounge in Chicago was nuts, small venue that holds maybe a couple hundred and it's standing only. Was so freaking loud & my wife & I both loved it. Took 3-4 days for my hearing to return to semi normal.

Going over what's playing locally this summer. Some big names like Metallica, Springsteen, Coldplay and more , but in some cases tickets are a bit steep with 200 bucks. Never occured to me to check this amusement park and kind of discovered this one which sounds decent - tickets are 5 bucks, so can't complain there. Same park has Billy Idol/Sex Pistol guys also for 5 bucks but it's not really my type of music.
Edit: Oh, In Flames coming there as well I see. (Well they are local boys I think so probably don't have to travel very far)Last edited by steffo99; 05-26-2023 at 10:41 PM.

Dierks Bentley at the Blossom Music center just outside Cleveland was an excellent show, played mainly hits and everything was full of energy with no slow assed ballads.
Excellent acoustics there as well."You know that little thing in your head that keeps you from saying things you shouldn't? Yeah, well, I don't have one of those."

Kiss are coming to my neck of the woods in October. I was never the biggest fan but how could you not go to see Kiss live if they come right to your doorstep?
For the past year, the only live music I was seeing was the symphony orchestra when they played, but I saw the homegrown progressive metal group Plini. Great musicians:
The drummer was my friend back in high school, too.Back off, Warchild.
Seriously.

Stone Temple Pilots were great! So was Smashing Pumpkins, although I only like a few songs of theirs.
STP brought back memories of their Core CD playing in my car 30 years ago. Damn time flies.Make It a Great Day! Just call me Dusty. It's a Clown π€‘ World out there.

I missed Rod Stewart and Lynyrd Skynyrd/ZZ top as I wanted to be home with my daughter before she goes off to college. Obviously that's way more important.
I see that Post Malone, 50 Cent, Forienger and others on the list.Make It a Great Day! Just call me Dusty. It's a Clown π€‘ World out there.

The Metallica weekend finally came around for me, and I even got to meet James Hetfield at his book signing. That was great!
Night 1 w/Pantera featuring Zakk Wylde + Charlie from Anthrax was amazing. Zakk is my favorite guitarist so I loved him standing in. I saw Phil w/The Illegals a few years ago where they did a Pantera tribute set, and that was a better overall experience due to being a theater vs. arena. I was on the floor up front for this, but the atmosphere in a jam-packed theater is untouchable.
Night 2 w/Five Finger Death Punch was not as bad as I figured it would be. I know nothing of theirs except that I don't care for it, but I didn't mind it either. Ice Nine Kills had a fun stage show going on to entertain me. Again, up front on the floor. This was the last show of the US tour, while no major surprises came about we did get Leper Messiah (I can take or leave it, but since I'd never heard it live I was happy to have it in place of something else I was eager for) and some others I hadn't heard live yet.Lifting. Happy I get to go back to Halmstad for a short trip and beachside concert again (2 nights β July 24-26). Last time Alphaville played. This time it's Kim Wilde. Really liked it last time and even had some fun on the dancefloor they have there at the club afterwards.
Think I lucked out and got one of the last few rooms at the closest beach hotell and at a reasonable price β a best western half a mile away so no need to spend extra taxi money like last time to get back into the city.
Damn, she was pretty hot back in the day.

Saw Zakk Sabbath again last week. Always a great time! Played a couple songs they hadn't done in previous tours, which was nice.
Had tickets for Aerosmith last year and my show was in the few which were canceled due to Steven Tyler's vocal injury. There was a tentative rescheduled date for late January, but that's officially off the books and there's no hard-set plans yet for a replacement. Hopefully it happens, I've been wanting to see them forever and just never got to it.
Next up in March for me and my son are his favorite band Gloryhammer headlining a tiny place (where Eminem did the famous rap battle, downstairs at a larger club), for which we're beyond excited for. Then the following week, another of his favorites Alestorm.Lifting. Hockey. Headbanging.
