Also powerlifting takes 0 athleticism - at 14yrs old you should be trying to play sports that develop athleticism and movement. Most powerlifters turn to lifting because they suck at "real" sports. Go run track and field, play soccer, go join your hockey club!!!!!
hez clearly not fat and weak, not everyone likes athletic sports, barbell strength training helps proficiency in bodyweight movements go through the roof.

im 14(ik it doesn't matter cause its an open only meet) 114 lbs(so 53 kg weight class) and 5,1

    my current lifts are

340lb/155kg deadlift(curved back because i twisted my ankle 2 months ago so i had to stop squatting until 2 weeks ago so my hamstrings are weak, so like 275 with good form)

155 lb/70kg bench (probably 135-145 with a pause like you have to in a meet)

225lb/100kg squat currently(ATG so idk what it is parallel)
    295 lb/135kg squat PR(still ATG)

700lb/320 kg total (probably better now but i haven't tested in a bit)

    313 wilks score.

everything is RAW and without a belt because i dont have one.
look up starting strength and learn how to do the lifts properly.

Like I said - if you are not a real athlete and just want to have fun then by all means go lift.

I agree with Chad Smith - doing lifting year round is boring!!!

It's not what I think it's called good training. Even if you take the Russians training - at young ages their lifters are playing various sports and performing various movements.. They are not just lifting squat - dl - bp..... Go play football, soccer, and track/field and when you turn 21 you will be a better lifter.
if he lifts now he will be a better football, soccer , track and field player

i did have good form on deadlift, but i had to stop squatting and my hamstrings got weak, but the curve is not that bad but its not good thou. my dad has been lifting for 33 years injury free(he is 46 and got his first weight set for his 13th birthday) and taught me good form.
