IGN - 8.3
Captain Marvel manages to take the best ideas of early MCU origin stories like Iron Man and Thor and use them to form something that feels both familiar and fresh. It can be a bit on-the-nose at times, and occasionally has to fast-track its exposition in ways that can feel slightly clunky, but what it lacks in grace it makes up for in charm. Brie Larson's stellar performance gives Carol Danvers a vibrant, joyful life that will fit right into the future of the MCU, whatever that future may hold.
------------------
Scenes between Fury and Larson's Carol Danvers, rediscovering her human past, are oddly inert, and the film's much-vaunted feminism, promised in months of run-up advertising and interviews, gets short-shrift.

The humour is nicely played, with some neat '90s gags to accompany a grungy soundtrack.

Captain Marvel is not the blunt-force challenge to the accepted norms that Ryan Coogler's Black Panther came to represent, but it's a potent statement of intent.

I agree. And I would hate it if she harms Thanos more than the rest. But like I said before, I dont mind this movie. She always existed in comics. And its mainly for the female fans. For 11 years, its mostly male heroes. Nice to have females(esp young girls/daughters) to see a female hero movie. **** Wonder Woman/DC!

Yeah no chit. We want to show that movies that use these over the top political agendas as the selling point of said movie that's riddled with it is not okay. We don't want to be sold an SJW agenda story, we just want to be sold a good story that takes time and effort to craft. Enough with the lazy pandering BS already.
I don't care nor am I invested in the MCU but this chit absolutely destroyed Star Wars and I don't want to see it continue.▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬ஜ۩۞۩ஜ▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬

Not me. I want every movie I see to be great because I want to be entertained: that's the point. But, I watched the trailers and they are also 'chitty'. What's with this slowly walking towards the camera trying to 'bounce' while you walk to make your hair float in slow motion garbage? Is that meant to empower women or something? Be inspirational?
This is a hero entrance:
The Captain does it again.
Hela destroying Thor's hammer - that's an epic moment. A woman bouncing up and down in front of a camera in slow motion is not an 'inspirational' hero.
I would love to be proven wrong and for this to be an awesome movie, but whenever I see movie stars talking trash on twitter or social media in the run-up to the movie I have a suspicion that it's tied to the fact that the movie isn't that good.

Wonder Woman was an awesome movie and she's been the highlight of the DC universe so far, but Captain Marvel just seems so... stupid.

because Wonder Woman has always been a staple of the Justice League... making a movie about her and having a strong female lead was natural... her character was worthy of a movie..
this captian marvel sht... welll they changed captain marvel from a guy to a girl in the comics and now pushing a feminist agenda with the movie... the two cant be compared - WW felt natural, this feels forcedyou should read this
