It's always online but you can play the PVE side of the game solo if you want to.

Except the Dark Zone, that forces you into PVP with other players if they want to attack you

I watched a streamer do a 24-hour nonstop grind to get to level 30. I peeked into his stream from time to time to see his progress on the game because I wanted to get a look at pvp in the Dark Zone when his squad was ready for it. The game looks beautiful. At level 30, a whole lot of new content opened up on the map too. I think there is a lot to keep single players busy, but I'm looking forward to seeing if pvp is the clusterf*ck that it was on The Divison 1. His impressions seemed to be positive after 1 day of playing nonstop.

I think the matchmaking for Division 2 is supposed to be more fair in pvp.

From my experience with the beta the normalization will greatly help in comparison to the first game but I would still anticipate the no lifers will be able to make builds that give them a decent advantage. I also just think the game feels too much like an RPG first and a shooter second in the true PVP mode (forget what it's called). If that's your thing then I think it would be great, it's just not mine. When I finally pick up this game I'll play mostly SP stuff, I think the Division does that well, solo or with friends in co-op/groups.. As unique and neat of an experience I think the Dark Zone was at first I just much rather PVP in other games when I feel they do it so much better. .....unless they add Survivor mode again, was my favorite part of PVP in the first game, sad most people left the game long before it came out and never experienced it.

Word of advice: Turn off Global Chat... Holy **** does this game need a regional server lock more than any game I've ever seen in my life. Turning on Global chat just gives you a never ending spam wall of Chinese, Korean, Russian, German, and people spamming their clan recruitment wall of texts. I don't understand how in 2019 a game that is 100% online doesn't have regional servers.

Won't be playing until this evening. Been pretty psyched all week though. The stuff coming out about it from the early access has been incredibly positive.

I went from being a little meh on it between closed/open beta, to can't wait to play it all weekend.

Got this game free with my new Ryzen CPU. Played it a couple hours, pretty fun. Never played the original so didn't know what to expect. Looking forward to seeing how it holds up as I progress. Literally just downloaded Uplay for this, never used it before, but I'm down to add some brahs if you shoot me your names.

Been hearing and reading a lot of good stuff about Division 2. I'm highly considering picking it up. Itching to play a "new" game and I'll be off for 3 weeks from work soon so I'll have plenty of time to game.

Anyone having trouble logging on to the Club Ubisoft website? I have like 200 of those ubisoft coins and I might be able to use it to get a discount on Division 2 but I can't log on to their club ubisoft website (I logged in and it just stays "connecting"). Been trying to for 2 days now lol.

Well you could use the code on any Ubisoft game, just not new releases (game has to be out for at least 3 months). I went out to Checkout using the code and it works for the Year 1 DLC Pass.

That doesn't apply to this one. If you consider this game not finished, there's no pleasing you.

Anyway, played about 15 hours over the weekend. DC feels like a much better city than New York did. And man, those two missions in the museums were absolutely perfect.

I mean it's done better than all the rest so far for sure but it's still very much games as a service, Ubisoft is calling it that.

I'm guessing they have a different definition than you then. Probably something similar to how Destiny was originally advertised as having a long planned out story where you'd need to buy DLC to continue on? I'm not sure.

But having played Destiny 2, for instance, this game is vastly superior. It improves upon almost everything in Division 1. Comparing Division 2 to Anthem and Destiny 2 and they're not even remotely close.

I don't understand all the people and the YouTubers talking about crashes and bugs all the time, I've played about 20 hours and I've crashed zero times, I've encountered no bugs except one time my turret blew up immediately upon throwing it, and I haven't had a single ounce of lag.

To me this game is 100x better than Division 1 and if you call this game "unfinished" then I'm not sure what exactly you're looking for, because to me this game looks polished and finished.

I am not trying to argue with you or upset you if you like the game, great, enjoy it, have fun. I greatly enjoyed the first Division and I plan to pick this up as well at some point. I am not saying a games as a service can't be enjoyed on release. But this is indeed a games as a service as there is sizable content being held back to increase the amount of time the average user plays the game, which has shown to increase spending, the reason this is becoming more and more common. And I mean it's clearly better than others in it's category, especially in consideration to launch content specifically. In comparison to Anthem The Division 2 is Chad and Anthem is 133lb 18 year old virgin.

the turret bug is being fixed with a patch later today (around 10pm ish). it was a bug related to the cooldown reduction stat (affected drones too)

but yea, only bugs ive run into was the turret/drone bug and not being able to progress in one of the strongholds cuz a wave of enemies didnt spawn (killed myself to restart at the checkpoint and it worked fine)

there also seems to be a ubisoft club reward issue (for some closed beta players), but thats a nonissue lol

Does anyone have any recommendations for TV shows or movies to watch that are similar to The Division 1/2?

To me, the closest show to The Division 2 setting that I've ever seen was The Last Ship. Huge viral apocalypse wipes out most of the population, there's one lone US Navy destroyer that was in the arctic during the outbreak who survives and returns to the U.S, etc...

I really have no idea what I am doing. I am just going to side missions and main missions. Not even sure how I ended up getting them.

Its super fun though.

I highly suggest spending some time just exploring, too. Those recordings and remakes of past situations with holograms are interesting.
