Agreed! I was reading earlier on Twitter about this.
@BauerOutage
“Hearing a LOT of rumors about a certain player agent meddling in MLBPA affairs. If true — and at this point, these are only rumors — I have one thing to say... Scott Boras, rep your clients however you want to, but keep your damn personal agenda out of union business.”
Looks like Boras is trying to line his wallet some more. Come on baseball let’s get this chit rolling.Titletown, Lake Show, Evil Empire

Yeah seriously doubt MLB feels pressure just cause other leagues fire back up.
When has that ever stopped MLB from doing exactly whatever the f*ck it wants?
Still time for this to work out, I figured there would be pushback no matter what from the Tuesday proposal. We’ll find out if it’s all just posturing or if it’s legit in about 5 days or so."One day I won't be able to lift any more. Not I won't want to lift. I mean physically unable. “ It’s in question whether the players will even make a counteroffer, Heyman and Chris Cotillo of MassLive.com hear.”
Yeah they’re feeling the pressure all right
I’m not saying something still won’t get done, I’m just saying they’re not feeling any pressure like you think.
Are we not past the point of them looking bad squabbling as long as they have? Didn’t seem to stop them to this point. I think you’re giving them too much credit for caring"One day I won't be able to lift any more. Not I won't want to lift. I mean physically unable. is/did someone tally the votes for how we will reset for next season? After thinking about it I'm good either way, either it's like I never missed the draft at all, which would be cool, or the season played out and now we are at the start of the new one.

Like Saalty said, no ones wasting their time on that right now
When you say “season played out” I am curious what you mean by that.
There’s actually 3 options here.
Option 1: reset to 2019 rosters and give everyone their draft picks back (ie iceman has like 4 first round draft picks again)
Option 2: reset to 2019 rosters and wipe the slate clean on draft picks (everyone starts with all their rounds basically)
Option 3: pretend this season happened, the roster you have from this 2020 draft is who you make you keepers selections from (and everyone has all their draft picks except Krazy and JY who have already flipped picks for some strange reason)
But no one is voting on this sh*t until final word is out."One day I won't be able to lift any more. Not I won't want to lift. I mean physically unable. That day could be decades from now or it could be tomorrow. All I know is that's the day I'll wish I could lift more than ever. Option 2 doesn’t.
I thought that’s what some of you were wanting though when I first brought up the problem a few weeks ago.
Option 1 or 3 make sense to me. I’m fine with either.
Maybe when I first brought this up I wasn’t clear enough in describing what I meant? I interpreted Krazy and others in favor of option 2 but I may have seriously misinterpreted (which is why I’m actually trying to break it down a little more clearly now cause I definitely think some miscommunication was happening previously... at least I hope... which is my fault)."One day I won't be able to lift any more. i was always speaking about option 3.. since we went ahead with the draft
basically the draft played out like it would have had we had a season. i think i gave a bunch of scenarios like judge being back already affecting the draft; and i even mentioned re-drafting to which saalty said "no". mainly i think to do with the fact that he would have had to re-insert all of the picks and everything.
those that traded for picks then got to use their picks for better players.
i then said season is too complicated and you can't discern how you would have had that play out, so it's almost pointless going there.
but i also thought it was gay that some bottom tier team could have had a good draft, lets say spaz. some other team had picks. and then the other team with picks could get all his picks back cause he fuked up in the draft meanwhile spaz's team has to forego everything that he just accumulated. i also said theoretically the team with picks should have better keepers to choose from based on his picks so i don't think the draft was useless
and i think it's stupid that the team with picks possibly messed up and gets a chance at a re-doLast edited by propreffered7; 05-28-2020 at 07:32 PM.

Actually there’s a 4th Option too
Keep our 2020 rosters for 2021 and DONT have a 2021 draft at all.
Unorthodox and probably not what people would vote for anyway, but since I’m being thorough tonight."One day I won't be able to lift any more. Not I won't want to lift. I mean physically unable. I kind of like it personally but I feel like JY is going to throw a massive fit seeing as he didn't even want to draft a month early back in march when the season was delayed with a possible May start date at the time.
In his defense this time around I think he'd have a valid argument against it if he wanted to make a case. Free agency does change things around drastically as opposed to a few measly weeks of an extended start time.
I'd still be done to do this, but playing Devil's advocate I really do get why others might not.
I think it'd make for an interesting year, mix things up a little bit and put kind of a weird twist on 2021. Who cares if it's not perfect? It's fantasy it's supposed to be just for fun imo."One day I won't be able to lift any more. Not I won't want to lift. I mean physically unable. Colour me biased, but I'm at a severe disadvantage after trading players away for picks I thought I'd be able to use in 2021. I still think Option 3 is the best option since everybody drafted based on the notion that there would be a draft in 2021 regardless of how 2020 played out. Not to mention almost everybody who's in the loop has said they're okay with Option 3 except saalty (I think).

This man gets it. It's not fair to teams who traded away a lot for 2020. If we keep the teams but hold a draft they don't get the benefit of all their extra picks in 2020 since keepers are limited.
I still believe keeping the teams and rolling them into 2021 without a draft or resetting everything to the way it was before the draft are the two best options. I'm open to changing my mind if someone makes a compelling case. I'm just not seeing it.Last edited by saaltydog; 05-29-2020 at 09:58 AM.

IMO rosters shouldn't be reset/another draft shouldn't take place until a single game has been played. If that's in 2020, we proceed business as usual in 2021. If there are no games until 2021, the next roster reset/draft should happen in 2022. The decisions made in 2019 as far as trades and 2020 as far as draft picks need to be able to play out.
