Once you get to know your new friend a bit better. A good way to let him know while still seeming like one of "the guys" rather than "the gay guy" is probably with a beer or a pizza or any normal guy chill out 1 on 1 time. The two problems are that (1) Guys don't know how to react because they are scared to do the wrong thing which may be offensive. And (2) They don't want to think you're only being his friend to **** him in the ass. So if you just mention it in part of a conversation then there is no problem and the most you'll get is "oh haha i didnt know that" or "yeah i know" because sometimes its obvious even if you dont think it is.
