Nothing wrong in doing that type of approach. But that guy Has a cringe to his approach which looks all wrong just by judging his body language.

Looks and money definitely help if you can use them to build systems. However, in the open field looks only give you a 30 second window. Have a good energy and convey that you're high value in the first 30 seconds then if you do this right she will warm up to you.
