    What range of intensity does 8x8 indicate?

    I plateaued at my 8x8 some time ago. Technically the top was 7 sets of 9 followed by a failure set of 8. But aside from that, if 8 reps in one set is an 80% max, what's 8 sets of that? Does the precise 1rm get blurry over that much volume?

    first set was probably what, rpe 6 ? maybe 7 if you are taking huge rests.

    so a 15rm max maybe...

    I would guess 58-62% ish

    Yes, imo if the sets exceed a range of 3-5 then the % of 1RM is less quantifiable.

    Make it easy for you.

    8 sets of 8 is good if have some weight on the bar. Really strong athletes are going to see good gains from say, bench pressing 225 for 8x8

    If you are pressing 115 for 8x8, you are most likely only working on muscular endurance.
