I've been playing kingdom hearts since the first one released, I was about 10/11and have played both multiple times, and I gotta be honest..... I still have no fukkin clue wtf is going on in these games.

There aren't any cliffs. Play the games and you'll get it (not just KH1 and KH2, you really need to play other ones like BBS and DDD). It's too much to try to condense.

KHII - Sora wakes up after the events of Chain of Memories and learns about the 12 powerful Nobodies (Organization XIII like Axel, Roxas, etc.) and travels around to defeat them, save other worlds, and continues to try to find Riku, Kairi, and Mickey. In the process, he learns the truth about Ansem (Kingdom Hearts I, Heartless of Xehanort) and that the Nobodies are trying to finish Kingdom Hearts because of all the Heartless he is killing. So he travels to the Nobody's base, finds his friends, and defeats all the Nobodies, including Xehanort's Nobody, Xemnas.

DDD (after KHII) - Mickey summons Sora and Riku to become Keyblade masters and tell them about how Sora has to save the guy who's heart is inside him (Roxas), the guy Xehanort took over (Terra), and the girl stuck in the world of darkness (Aqua, play BBS and 0.2). Meanwhile, Xehanort is back and uses time travel to get a bunch of his other selves to make an evil plan work for once. Sora gets in trouble but is rescued by Riku. So Riku becomes a Keyblade master, Sora doesn't and goes off to have more adventures, and Kairi starts her Keyblade training. This leads up to the beginning of KHIII.

If you haven't played BBS this won't make much sense.

I only played my first kh game 5 years ago and it still seems like I've been waiting forever.

i would just play it, it's really cheap. no one can really explain it other than it's a jrpg with disney characters.

basically it's one of the most significant OG JRPGs that came out on ps2. significant meaning it was so good at the time that it was hard to find someone that hasn't played it. i think it was even more popular than FFX, though FFX was a masterpiece. if you didn't play it chances you were a boring xbox boy lol! it may be hard to get into now though, i think we were all like 8-10 years old when the first one came out.

they have everything in one for $10-20, so you could catch up by the time kh3 comes out

KH2 was left on a cliffhanger and there were talks of a third one coming out before 2013. It's not like it's a Soulsborne or FF game with a conclusion or self contained story these kunts waited until motherfukers out here turned into adults for them to release it. They can do what they want obviously, but I ain't buying this shiet first day and tbh only the first KH was awesome the second one was a button masher so I'm not expecting this to be that much better.

I played FFX and fukin loved it, one of my top games of all time. The same friend who got me into FFX tried getting me into Kingdom Hearts. But as a 13 year old I thought it was too childish..lol

Loved the first one for PS2, had the second on PS2 as well now I am playing the 1.5 final mixes to pump for this. More I want to drop finishing Spidey and Mafia 3 and just go to town on the final mixes until the 3rd. Day one for me. The first game I buy in 2019, and will be good at least til DMC5. I hope it is game of the year worthy by this time next year.

lmao, not sure I've ever had a video game crush, but I'm also more receptive to classic games now (if the graphics aren't trash) so maybe I'll play it someday.

A game with that much backing/staying power has to have some novel qualities that make it worth a vintage play through.

kh1 has significant parts that will always be memorable. i think most of us after like 20 years still remember crystal clear the scenes i'm talking about. but honestly the rest of it was forgettable lol.

KH2's cliffhangers got answered in birth by sleep and dream drop distance(the direct sequel to 2)
