Lol steam says i've played 6 hours from sitting in menus trying to load... i've actually been in game about 1 hour ish. The rest of it has been 'Disconnected by host' 'Couldn't connect'


Edit: Freeports actually working now finally. I've managed to get more materials in about 5 minutes play time than i did in the 1 hour spawning on the lawless land...

I think that the vast majority of people (aka every non hardcore Ark player), should avoid this game for at least the first year. It's literally just a buggier Ark with tons of water and pirate themes.

Idk man even im having a hard time with this currently, its just very grindy.

I think this has some potential but i can't see playing solo being any fun unless you play boosted rate servers.

few tips for those playing:
- H shows the resources you can get from whatever you're looking at.
- Vitamin D comes from fish
- B comes from meat
- A C come from berries
- Start in the free port and get a raft from there, freeports make it super quick to get the starter stuff.
- Lawless means its open pvp it took me like 30 mins to sail on a raft from starter to the next square zone.

him and a bunch of people spent 8 hours gathering materials to build a boat and they are sailing around looking for somebodies base to raid
then somebody accidentally destroyed one of their planks at the bottom of the boat and they all scramble to try and repair it

fail

and their boat sinks along with all the resources they collected

funniest chit ever, as some of them are raging about their boat sinking after all their hard work lol

Haha that's brutal. I had a case yesterday where some fool chased me from the safe zone into the lawless region on his raft.

He was stopped in the safe zone jumped on my boat and tried to stab me not knowing it wasn't PvP yet and then got back on his ship and pleaded with me to give him berries. I sailed straight past and went to lawless zone and he followed and started shooting arrows at me. I boarded him and he was on like 20% hp from starving so I 2 shot him and stole all of his loot lmao. Ended up with like 1.2k stone, 700 wood a bunch of metal fur etc. I destroyed his bed and carried on with my day. Was actually a really fun experience lol quite funny having sailing fights and boarding people.

Just need a big crew to reduce the grind

I'm bias because i really enjoy ark so i think it's 100% worth $20, tbh its even worth $40. However, it's much better with a group than solo and do not play official. Some basic tames on official take over 4+ hours to complete and you need to be constantly giving the dinosaurs attention. Play on unofficial at 5x or above taming rates or you'll have a bad time.

yeah all you have to do is plant a flag at their base if you killed all bodies in the territory then place a sleeping teammate body on it so the timer works

takes 1.5 hours

Every single one of these dumbass youtubers reviews are showcasing the day 1 - 2 release of the game where it was laggy. Literally all of that has been fixed.

Anybody who actually played the game and didn't throw a tantrum that the launch was laggy and focus their whole review on lag is actually having a blast.

It's not just a rehash of ark, there is tons to do and the gameplay is actually quite fun. sure there are some small issues with balancing and stuff but that will fix over time. Don't listen to these idiot youtubers who post all this content instantly trash talking the game talking about how it's terrible without ever actually playing it
