    Exclamation How would you eat in this situation (injured)

    Dislocated my shoulder skateboarding recently. Doc has only ok’d curls. No chest no shoulders. Just a curl monkey. For months.

    How should I eat? Excess calories so my chest tris and shoulders don’t fall off? I’m not working out I’ll probably get fat. Just maintain and hope for the best? It’s winter I would normally be bulking but it would be biceps only which is weird. Halp.

    Bulking for arms only? I wouldn't. Add legs then maybe.

    I would work legs, mobility etc. I have dislocated shoulders before and wish I knew what I knew now. Even if doctors say some things are ok, I would just give the entire upper body time to heal. Work with a physical therapist and do it right or else it will linger.

    I don't really do bulking anyway - you don't need to pile on fat to gain muscle. I'd do what I normally do and keep my weight fairly stable.

    Odd that curls are okay since the bicep crosses the shoulder joint. If I were you I would hammer the chit out my legs until getting the upper body cleared. Eating at maintenance would probably be best for now as well. Start working with a physio/ PT as soon as you can too, shoulder injuries can linger for years if you don't get them fixed properly.
