Starting to lose interest in video games but still find myself using my free time playing them. I don't really enjoy it to be honest, I just am not a big fan of binge watching movies or tv shows. Starting to think I need to take a break from them to see if it might be a bigger issue (addiction perhaps?).
I am not letting it take over my life and still work and get my other priorities done on a week to week basis.
For those of you who stopped, what did you do to make sure you stopped indefinitely? I can go a few days to a week but then find myself back in the trap yet again.

I started a STEM degree while having a girlfriend while also having a full time job. No fukkin time for games for like a decade. I've seen others pull off 20 hrs of games a week still in that situation but it was not something I could do. At some point your ambition simply pushes certain hobbies off the plate.

Life got too busy. I'd love to play again but I don't find myself thinking of playing games during my free time anymore. I'm usually going out for mundane tasks or a social thing.
Look at what is out there to break up your days or pick up a new hobby. Enjoying a nice walk to a supermarket to buy ingredients to make my Sunday breakfast has become more appealing than another round of League.

I find them extremely boring if sober. Lil tree in me and I can enjoy them for a little.
I play them mainly during winter months. It's practically dark by the time I get home from work, and my closest friend is married with 2 kids, 3rd on the way. What else is there for a single man to do?Uncontrollable behavior with some psychopathic tendencies

Agree with you on the blazin' and playing games. I don't smoke anymore but it was a favorite activity of mine back in the day. Can relate. I am not looking forward to the winter months, that's when I would need it the most since the Northeast sucks and I don't ski/snowboard.
I work a full time job and still find time for it. Guess I should just use that time to be more social. My friends that are still in my area tend to just go to bars which is a bore for me, but might beat just playing video games.
I am looking to move south in the first half of next year so I can get away from the cold weather and open myself up to new experiences/people. I would bet my time spent playing video games at that point would decrease (potentially).

Yeah it doesn't help that the industry completely destroyed bro gaming by eliminating splitscreen from everything.
I've got 4 gaming cpus in my house and it still just kills the mood to have people come over and set everything up and get all the discord chats working and get all the steam accounts worked out and hope all the updates are current and hope that windows doesn't cause a driver issue with one of its security updates for one of the computers. Making sure all systems work all the time is like aligning hieroglyphs for the resurrection of the sand king.
It's so much simpler to have four player split screen console but M$ backed out of that. I'll never forgive them. Yes fookin mad.Boycott foodservice industry crew

Yee, I am northeast crew as well. The best part of video games growing up was that my real life friends played them as well. When latest WoW xpac came out, 4 of them were playing it. Now there's only 1 playing and so that has become lame. I don't blame them though. I stay activated with tokens, not usd. I made a lot of gold at start of xpac off herbalism, enough to pay for 3-4 months of tokens.
I don't look at video games as a bad thing, or something I want to stop. Quite frankly my outlook on life is do whatever the **** you want, as long as you enjoy it. I just definitely don't play them nearly as much as I did years ago.Uncontrollable behavior with some psychopathic tendencies

Every once in a while I'll feel obligated to play something. Like RDR2, I'll be playing that for sure. But the last games I played before that were Far Cry 5, and AC: Origins. Before that? I have no idea. I'll give PS+ games a shake but never do much with them. Just no time.

Start by only playing games that pique your interests. Dont just play games because you're bored or because it is the new popular game.
Every once in a while i simply just watch others play games. I still get to experience them in a way, and if the person is a gormless stoner bitch like Aris at Avoidingthepuddle you may find yourself a new source of entertainment.
I would suggest picking up an outdoors type hobby but if you live in the city that complicates ****.RIP Colin Flaherty
