I can't tell you how many times I've said it on this thread, I think Duke has great intentions, and I appreciate that he reaches out personally to this community, but they just don't have the right people in their corner. Some of these release fails could've been avoided if they had the right consultant giving them feedback. Couple that with growing too big too fast, probably pushing out production a little too quick and having issues, and not growing your staff large enough to handle all this has really set them back. I'm pulling for REP, but they just don't seem to be trending the right direction.

Saw a post on the FB home gym community and a guy in NY (not sure what city) was trying to price out a PR-4000 rack with accessories and 45lb iron plates (5 pairs). He was getting a $1400 R&L freight quote on the site for the order. He checked freight for a comparable order through Rogue and shipping was $235. Maybe it’s a matter of CO warehouse vs. PA warehouse for where it’s shipping from, but still seems very high.

Looking at REP's website today, lord I'm SOOOOO glad I didn't wait on the HR-5000. Although I must say after watching 'BasementBrandon's' latest half rack creation from REP it has me SUPER jealous. I'd love to add a full pulldown attachment to my setup and still have the half rack. If there is one thing that make me consider selling my Legend, it would be converting to something like that....

Never thought to look, but I should probably check. My rack is custom height though so that makes things more difficult, I had almost thought about buying the REP and custom fitting it to my rack, but at that price I could just buy a standalone. But the space saving aspect would be boss!

They posted pics of the low pulley and the pre-sale amount is $200. So $600 + shipping to pre-sale the combo...a Mech version of the combo would be awesome.

I don't feel comfortable ripping off someone else's product if I'm not going to make it a lot better or more versatile. Simply cutting the cost isn't really a motivation. We'll see in the future, right now I have other things to do.
As an example, I came up with jammer arms that are actually useful. I'll be posting photos in the next day or so. And I'm doing that so someone else can borrow the idea and run with it.▪█──█▪ Equipment Crew #61 ▪█──█▪

How about a version where the pulleys swivel so you can use it for additional movements?
Or a version that works off the uprights instead, and uses a plate loaded attachment that slide up/down the upright like the Williams Strength plate loaded attachment? That would also allow people who would max out a loading pin to add more weight. I think it’s just lined with UHMW to slide but rollers would be better I think (like the Rogue Trolleys):

Rogue was working on something similar but I think it was put on hold (post is over a year old):

Check out the Primal Strength GLS Jammer Arms. Heard that the designer tried selling to Rep Fitness (tying it back into this thread), but that Rep went with the Iso arms instead.
Under the 50-post requirement to provide a working link, but here it is with a couple spaces: https ://primalstrength. com/primal-strength-gls-jammer-arms/?fbclid=IwAR1YLFYOZuJqJdys16xpTS68RYDUzLSPQVBCY_df mWy3L8iRTEhA6GNw33Y

Been head down gettign stuff done lately, but thought I'd catch up and respond to some of the latest comments/questions.
Some of that's accurate, and some of it is perception versus reality. The accurate part is that we had a couple of product releases that were "meh" because of a combination of our staff being overwhelmed, and no clear processes/procedures around product launch quality control. We have since purposely slowed down our product launch pipelien so that more of the team is involved prior to launch, and the result should be better product releases going forward.
The perception part though is that while manufacturing is never going to be a perfect process, the vast majority of product reaching customers now is in really good shape. Our measured defect rate on established products like benches and racks is excellent now. We've also brought in some really experienced leaders a few months ago to the company to help with the scale we've gotten to and are headed towards. Some of the perception of "well if I go with X brand, it means I won't have a problem" is not exactly accurate if they do mass production. Doesn't matter where. If you ever peruse the Home Gym ******** group, you'll see what I mean. The fanboy element sometimes means those posts don't get as much attention as the ones where it's us or another import manufacturer ("iT's bEcAuSe ChInA!"), but they're there. Every manufacturer has them. And likely with the growing pains any popular manufacturer has, they'll be more of them. Shoot, it's even as simple as the change in perception when 1% defect rate on 100 means 1 person complains on social media, versus .5% of 1,000 means 5 people are complaining, yet the defect rate improved.
Don't feel sorry for us though, we went from 50 on staff pre-covid, to over 120 people now and still can't keep our most popular products in-stock for more than a day, despite tripling production volume.
It's Long Island. No trucking company likes dealing with it since no standard trucks fit on the streets easily.www.repfitness.com - Gym equipment manufacturer.

That's a nice setup, the only issue is going to potentially be stability if you don't bolt it down. If you like that, the HR-5000 (now named something else) update will be interesting for you.
We're finalizing that product page now and expect a launch within the week. Web dev company...their genius is why we all can't even see prices on out of stock products right now.
Will be cool to see something interesting!
Not exactly correct. They were developing those at the same time we were working on ours. Someone from that company, or their designer, approached us about a bunch of different designs. Our engineer passed. Might be a great product though, will be good to see some reviews.www.repfitness.com - Gym equipment manufacturer.

LOL, seriously. What part of L.I. exactly? My wife is from Patchogue and it's no different than any other burb. Right off Sunrise HWY, too. I mean i could see if we were talking NYC and the gear had to be walked up 10 flights of stairs to an apartment, but holy crow... no way $1,400 could be anywhere near correct for a house on L.I.

Yeah definitely could be mistaken, it's something about getting onto the island...I don't remember specifics from when I had this conversation with the freight carrier years ago.
Part of the issue is UPS is so overloaded we stopped using them for freight for the time being, but I believe we are getting regional carriers lined up for places where R&L doesn't serve well.www.repfitness.com - Gym equipment manufacturer.

That's the primary reason I built my platform, wanted to keep the rack from walking around and it just gives a more solid feel. Side benefit was the deadlifting area, but now that I'm waiting on the Titan Rickshaw to arrive that extra space may become useless soon if it replaces barbell deadlifting. All in all though I'm still just feeling 'meh' about my Legend rack, it's getting the job done though and I can't really complain too much.

100% agree with this. I've always thought the Legend version was the best so far due to the converging aspect. If it would easliy move up and down the posts like the Rogue system, it would be fantastic.
