To my non-professional eye, Rhoden looked better overall. Fuller. Heath has an almost perfect shape to his physique, but Rhoden came in with the same symmetry and better conditioning, if by only a fraction. JMO... it was a good contest.

That is true. I did not watch it, but saw some of the pics and Phil's gut was hanging all over and while everything else looked great, his abs were not cut.
I have a feeling Phil (if he wants it), will want redemption next year and will spend much more time on dialing it in and possibly working on that gut.
Also, from a marketing perspective, this is good for the O, because it will create a more competitive O next year and should create more interest.Last edited by Mark1T; 09-17-2018 at 08:22 AM.

That would be great. I don't know the details really but part of the why Kai retired from that is because of politics and that Phil is more marketable. Would Kai want to get back into it, build another big following only to be disappointed again for things not related to bbing? Would be good to see, though.

The top 3 looked really good. Phil manages to look amazing even when he's off, which says something.
But having given all sorts of props to all the competitors, I have to confess ever since Shawn's first Olympia, I've been a fan of his physique. He came in off a few times in a row, but this time he was his best self ever, so I am glad he won. Also it was time the Olympia got interesting again. No hate for Phil, but it's hard to feel excited about it when you already know who wins without even watching it.
One thing that drives me crazy about Shawn is how little phuks he seems to give on stage. I am sure it's a personality thing, different people deal with it differently, but seriously when he poses he looks like he's just going through the motions.
I saw a rather rambling interview with Phil doing some kind of stream of consciousness, I feel kind of bad for him, it's got to be tough as phuk to lose for him, but if he's a true champ he'll take this as motivation to work crazy hard and get his title back next year.Follow my 2018 competition prep here:
