Yeah, it's a real shame that in the U.S. medical care has been turned into a for-profit system like buying stuff at the grocery store. It's terrible and needs to be reformed.
Most of the developed world has humane free at the point of care medical services. Who wants a patient with cancer worrying about how they're going to pay for their treatment and follow ups? SMH.

I know this is not going to be a popular answer, but speaking from a personal perspective it's gotten a lot worse since Obamacare. LBM and I make way to much money, so health insurance for us is $1800 a month, and that is not even for the top tier insurance. It has a huge deductible. The US has one of the worst healthcare system in the world.

I totally agree. Like I said in a previous post the US has the worst healthcare coverage. My family in Italy basically get free healthcare. Most countries healthcare is either free or affordable.
Way to go Sorry about you being single again, but you know you are not going to find a quality woman by following the advice of the misc. I will check out the thread this weekend.

Man rather be a Chad who's whole status is based off his looks. Lmao just change to a girl already
I'd rather be intelligent decent looking nerd who works his ass off and receives the pay off of being a doctor than be some Chad who receives all his benefits early in life only to find himself a depreciating asset with low intelligence
good luck mane

This
For most of us it's also kind of a hobby
Dude you have no idea what you're talking about. You're literally not even on the same planet. If you ever came down with something and got admitted or ended up in the ICU you wouldn't have 2 fkin clues what was going on but you sure as hell would be happy the Drs there do.
Ah not true. You could maybeee say that it adds 1 point to your rating (at best).Licensed Medical Doctor

Lmao most docs are indian or socially awkward *******s. Docs don't get paid near what they're worth. I know plenty of dropouts who own businesses making WAY more than a doc who studied for 10 years.

What kind of doc makes 800k-1 mil?
Are you a surgeon or something? Even then, most surgeons won't be making this type of money....especially at 31.
What's the catch?
On topic:
And yes, being a doc does add to your "status" when it comes to marrying and sh!t. But the girls who are just banging dudes will go for looks more than you being a doc. Point taken though..
However, how many docs you see getting girls left and right like some other dudes do? I haven't seen much. I guess it's a different mindset. Personally, I'd wanna do some real meaningful job with thrill and unpredictability----may be I'm too influenced by James bond movies but oh well.

It does suck, depending where you are in the world and if you specialize or not. Doctor == being at weddings and people in your social circle (extended, or at the periphery) start coming up to you saying 'hey...yeah I have this weird lump in my knee. My kid is coughing a lot too..oh I'm making idle conversation not really asking you for a diagnosis' - that's the reality of it.
This 'prestige' is largely self-conferred, like engineers with the ring and the deliberate clanging. The average person honestly does not confer status on any career for its own sake - rather, because of money. And there are careers that require far less education that can make a lot more money than a doctor. I mean, unless you choose certain specializations and locations to practice that, as I said.
There are a number of paths in life that give 'prestige, money and security' - the question really is why the OP seems to think any of this equates with 'high test'? Most of the posters in this thread have no idea how hard it is to become a doctor in a quality medical school - how competitive it is, how much studying is required, the stress of it all if you're paying tuition fees etc. If getting a handjob or a blowjob from a semi stressed out female colleague of yours in a med lab is your idea of 'high test' when you're both pulling 16+ hour work/study days then...live that dream.
