No one gives a damn what the latest tweet was. These people are not stupid - they know what they are doing is illegal. As a general policy, it's a good idea not to blatantly do things you know are not legal just because those before weren't caught or the people who caught them decided not to enforce the law.
Yeah, the USA has been horrible at enforcing the border. Now that we're trying to fix that fukk up you want to complain about that too?Misc Firearms Crew

It was directed at the media who are constantly harassing Melania. It was NOT worn at the children's facility she visited.
and yeah man this a thread that really needs to be posted on R/P!
Don't you ladies have anything more important to discuss? like gossiping at the hair and nail salon about why neighbor Betty Sue died her hair brown instead of leaving it grey!?

Agreed, sort of. Figuring out a solution includes government agreeing with a course of action that then results in solving the problem.
The president isn't the government and can't likely do this on his own. This Art of the Deal BS is kind of interesting. Can Trump strong arm the rest of government into action/solution? I can understand the motivation to try but I don't see power plays working with a group of people who all believe they are powerful.

I understand the concept of personal accountability is hard for you people, but do you actually have a point you're trying to make?
And I remain unrustled. But I'm sure I'm not alone in growing tired of brain dead, mindless complaints about the topic. lol. See?Misc Firearms Crew

That rather than constantly looking to blame someone else the focus should be on holding ourselves accountable for failing to secure our own borders?
Is that hating America or can you handle the responsibility?
It doesn't matter who or why or where people come from and what they bring with. What matters is how we manage our borders.
-

Sure. Illegal immigrants currently within our borders is entirely on our country for failing to secure them.
And now we are making attempts at improving security. Part of that includes apprehending all people attempting to enter illegally and processing them all on a zero tolerance policy.
You seem to be saying that the entire issue is the US' fault for not enforcing border security, but are also upset now that the US is taking action to enforce border security?Misc Firearms Crew

Correct on the first part, not upset that action is being taken. If I'm upset it's that, once again, the issue is being completely half-assed and managed in a way that has, along with the usual anti-immigrant rhetoric, turned the discussion towards stupid **** like caged children and Mrs. Trump's jacket. I don't expect miscers to respond by writing up multi-point immigration plans and organizing town hall meetings with their congressional representatives. The non-stop Trump nutcupping and bitching about the media and liberals is a little pathetic though and makes it hard to tell who is stupid and who is serious.

Regardless of whether it's a half measure or if more can be done, it IS a step in the right direction, but the president can only do so much on his own, and rightfully so. But in the current atmosphere, we do have a president that at least appears fully committed to increasing border security and has several steps he'd like to see taken towards that, and we do have a particular party of people that will fight him (and anyone else with similar beliefs towards this topic) tooth and nail to keep them from passing any full measures, and we do have a media that will continue chumming the waters to incite the frenzy of that particular party. I guarantee you that every single person on the side of increased border security would MUCH rather discuss measures to actually secure it (including possible ways to keep families attempting to cross illegally together) than whether or not and for how long the government has been putting kids in cages or what Melania wore on the plane.

Trump's taking steps in some direction, we'll see if they are right.
I like that he appears fully committed to border security. That alone isn't enough though. This kind of gets to my whole problem with Trump and his supporters. I don't think the job description should be to drain the swamp and talk **** and fight the establishment. That's much better left to congress where 100 Trumps would be amazing. Instead of trying to be alpha and work towards his goals alone he should at least be able to unite his own party, and bring in some of the opposition, and work towards having his goals enacted through law. Traditional statesman type stuff.
The media is the media, to be used or disregarded as needed. There is no need to fight them.

I think the thing that gets lost in these discussions is the real question of, "what should our immigration policy be?"
I'm not opposed to the idea of securing the border, per se. I do think that our current problem with illegal immigration is caused, at least in part, by the fact that our immigration system is not capable of efficiently handling the number of people who want to come here. (Based on my quick research just now, it looks like the green card process can take several years if you're not employer sponsored.)
Securing the border without fixing the immigration system itself is not solving the problem. Not to generalize, but I kind of suspect that for some people, this is actually what they want; cutting off Mexicans from coming to America.USAF '09-'18. Master of Science. WoW player. Computer guy. Rubio's getting sick of the Lunatic Leftist neocommunists with the rest of us ...
Marco Rubio @marcorubio
I know for a FACT that @FLOTUS has been a strong voice of compassion for migrant children. The vicious treatment of her over the last day is a reminder of how Trump Derangement Syndrome, where hatred for him justifies everything, has become an epidemic. Totally lunacy everywhere!!!

Why are you trying to make it so difficult? It's incredibly easy - fuk everyone who tries to come here illegally.
Our system doesn't need to be capable of handling everyone who wants to come here; it needs to be capable of processing all the people we can handle being here.Misc Firearms Crew
