No media sites are even discussing the possibility that part of Solo's failure was backlash against Last Jedi, which tells you something. It's all excuses and nonsense. No mention of the creators lashing out at the fans, blaming them, calling them racists, etc...

Don't fire Kathleen Kennedy over Solo

Behind closed doors it will be a different story
This is all a front to keep shareholders and investors happy, unfortunately the head in the sand front will only piss off more fans
Disney will prob start with a spin off of original material (think they signed those hack writers from GoT) and if that takes off they'll reevaluate and relegate Kennedy to advisory roles (silent advisory roles)

The last jedi was absolute garbage and tarnished the star wars legacy. Solo however was an entertaining movie and definitely worth watching. It was lightyears ahead of the last jedi. We'd have to know more about who has complete creative control but the perception is that Kathleen has all the power. If that's the case she has got to go asap.

TFA re-lit the excitement for me, and I was looking forward to all the questions JJ set up to be answered. I was so disappointed that I don't give a sht anymore. Not going to pay for Solo, and probably won't pay for ep9 either.
There is simply no other exercise, and certainly no machine, that produces the level of central nervous system activity, improved balance and coordination, skeletal loading and bone density, muscular stimulation and growth, connective tissue stress and strength, psychological demand and toughness, and overall systemic conditioning as the correctly performed full squat.

The losses will be greater, trust me. The people saying 80 million are the same ones who opined Soylo would open to 120-150 million domestic.
Moreover, even breaking even, it would be a monumental failure. Star Wars movies need to make money. Lucas didn't hand the property over to them for free. They plunked down a check for $4 billion dollars. That investment needs to pay every-damn-year, 10% (or $400 million) just to be considered "meh", 20% or more to begin to be considered a strong return.
So, while the profit for the year is more than just the returns for Soylo, you have the toys nobody is buying, the t-shirts nobody wears, the blurays that sit on shelves, and such, but Soylo actually losing money -- that is an absolute disaster.
Meanwhile, if you ask me, Soylo wasn't the worst. I didn't care for the casting and there was some Meh-ness to it, but it was not offensive like Last Jedi. No media outlets will even speculate that the cause of Soylo's failure might be backlash against Last Jedi. Major media sites completely ignore that even as a possibility - which says something. The fact they ALL refuse to talk about it, tells me that behind closed doors, someone has forbid them from doing so, and for someone to forbid something to be spoken means they realize there is truth to it.
Disney needs a strong course correction. This involves replacing the top (Kennedy) and acknowledging that telling the fans they're bigots and haters was unwise. Instead of ignoring reality and thinking the fans will accept any slop they serve. No more politics, particularly left-wing ones or weird feminist agendas. That has yet to pay off with any industry that's attempted it, to my knowledge. All truth passes through three stages. First, it is ridiculed. Second, it is violently opposed. Third, it is accepted as being self-evident.

TLJ is an abomination. Solo was fine. You really have to try to F up the franchise, and they did with TLJ.
The thing that really pissed me off with the TLJ was the forced comedy. The intro scene with him over the comms had me knowing within 2mins that the movie was going to be utter trash and it wasMisc Firearm Crew. 2nd Amendment cannot be Interpreted.

I feel like the reason Solo bombed so hard was because the original directors, Phil Lord and Christopher Miller (21 Jump Street, Lego Movie), were fgonna make a meta-commentary about how TLJ tried way too hard to appeal to the SJW crowd and Kennedy didn't like that - so she fired them and hired Ron Howard to do the re-shoots.
For what it's worth, I think Ron Howard did a pretty good job given the timeline and resources he had to work with.RIP Lil Peep

Disney is doing just fine, they've already made well over 4 billion in revenue from star wars movies not including toys and disneyland attractions. Having said that they have to get their act together for their next star wars movies. Disney also owns the rights for Indiana Jones. Great, another franchise they can destroy.

I liked the prequels over this current batch.. Well i though the third movie was very good.. and other two were meh/ok. TFA was ok.. still made no sense how Rey with no training was so powerful.. they killed of ****ing han (bad).. but you wanted to know Rey's and Snokes origin..
The next movie was garbage.. Snoke backstory wasn't important according to the director.. and Rey parents were a bunch of low lifes.. the questions/mysteries from the first film were not important/thrown away.. why the **** would i watch the last one?
Not even going into all the agendas they were pushing either..
I heard Rogue one was a great star wars movie.. but wasn't impressed.. can't remember any of the main characters.. outside of the dude who plays hannibal
In the originals u had Han.. Luke.. Yoda.. Vader.. Leia.. Palpatine and some others.. who u loved and got behind..
Who in this new trilogy gives those feels?? Certainly not Rey.. Finn.. Po or that soyboy rentabob Vader.. Snoke was the only interesting one and they ****ing killed him along with 2 of the original main cast (With Leia dead irl its 3)

Movie studios mess with the numbers to show movies that do great as being a loss for tax and insurance reasons. The public numbers dont mean jack.
The movies themselves do, and they suck.
The reason the prequels sucked was because they were geared toward kids, making them really stupid and childish. When Disney bought the rights I knew it would be even worse because they will and have shoved all the empowerment and equality BS down our throats.
Unless they start making star wars rated R, Im not gonna bother watching them anymore. Solo was total chit and it actually broke my heart.
