After some research I decided to the the Titan T-2 POWER RACK. Building a home gym and a budget.

Seems like a decent piece of equipment for the price. Anyone else have this one?

Most of us here would most likely not reccommend the T2 based on specs alone light gauge steel. very light weight, and some based simply on the name alone.
Now that being said I've seen guys using the t2 on youtube to move a lot more weight than I can reasonably ever hope to achieve and the t2 seems not to have had any major issues that I know of as of yet.Best Lifts

TITAN gets a lot of positive abd negative reviews here, there very polarizing because they are leading the industry’s change from being primarily domestic priduced to import for more robust items. Not an argument for this thread.
The t-2 rack series is there oldest and least heavy duty. The t3 is 2”x3” and the most popular and what i would recomend. There x3 is great but a bit pricier-and not as much intechangeble accesories

This rack does not meet the specs most here would consider the minimum for a high quality, heavy duty rack. In reality, unless you're pushing serious weight (like 500+ lbs) that's likely never going to be a concern, and it should do just fine.
That said, if you can stretch the budget an extra $80-100 I'd strongly suggest looking at the T3 models. You're jumping to a MUCH heavier duty frame, plus you get 1" westside hole spacing, which is a huge upgrade in usability for many exercises. Also stuff like band pegs, more accessory options, etc. The price of the accessories does take a jump in price from T2 to T3 models, but they are just that...accessories.
How far do you intend to go with this rack? If you just want a basic rack for general fitness, the T2 will work and you'll likely be satisfied for years. The T3 is designed to meet any ambition you ever have. Evaluate your goals, and if you have plans to someday look like Arnold, then "buy once, cry once" and get the T3.

The Fitness Reality rack is supposed to be good too, and cheaper.

I just dont see the value in these $300-$400 racks any more when for $100 more you could get a 3x3 11 gauge x-3 (which wont need bolting down) or even a commercial rack on CL (depending on your market, of course).
a couple other options:
Rep PR 1000. $275
https://www.repfitness.com/strength-...rep-power-rack
Rep PR-3050Flat foot 11 gauge rack. $429. This and the Titan x-3 are likely two of the cheapest 11 gauge racks out there

I don't think that you are wrong, but I do think that the power rack market is pretty saturated, and there's almost always a better/nicer option for $100-200 more. Really depends on if OP is committed to lifting at home and wants to buy once, cry once, or if he's just trying the home gym thing out and trying to do it on the cheap.

I agree. My head would be spinning just trying to consider all the options on Rogue's website alone. Then toss in Fitness Reality, Fitness Gear, Valor, Titan, ETHOS, Force USA, REP, Vulcan, Body Solid, Powertec, Bodycraft, York, Black Widow TG, Edge Fitness, EliteFTS, Williams Strength, Legend, Sorinex, Hammer Strength, Matrix, Cybex, Bomb-Proof, Magnum, Powerlift, and I'm probably still missing a ton. Each one of those brands has something $100-$200 more/less than the competitor to their right, saturated indeed!

43 quickly approaching 44 and in the over 400 club.....and I'm a relatively weak, chubby guy.
Nothing wrong with having your own plan, goals and reason for lifting what you lift but no need to assume your goals, reasons for lifting and limitations (even if by choice because of other goals/activities) are the same as others.{5'7" and under #1}

Here we go again with 'Functional' training, do you crossfit? Please explain when being strong stopped being functional in life. I'll wait here, because squatting weight like that means you have a core of steel, quads of peace, and a posterior chain like a silverback gorilla.

yes, there are lots of 14 gauge racks out there. they will last forever and there are guys using them that move more weight than most.
HOWEVER, its not about the gauge per se, but the overall weight of the rack. those racks that only weigh 100 -140 lbs (which is what a 14 gauge rack will weigh) can move even when re-racking well less than 400 lbs. they are generally less stable when doing body weight work as well since that puts even more stress on the structure than just re racking weight.
11 gauge is just the number discussed because thats what so many manufacturers move up to from the 14 gauge offerings."ive made the most impressive gains when i spent months with the heavy dumbbells and left the power rack cowering in the corner like the b**ch that it is"-anonymous

There's absolutely nothing wrong with not wanting to squat more than x pounds, but don't sell yourself short, either. 400 seems like a pretty big lift if you're used to lifting in a globogym where squats are rare to begin with. It's a warmup weight if you're used to a powerlifting gym. In the end, regularly getting the training time in and making measurable progress towards set goals is much, much more important for the non-competitive among us than how much weight we are lifting compared to other people. I don't know what "functional" training is, because I think that any training that helps you get closer to your goals is "functional".

This is the bigger deal to me with the lighter duty racks, along with the fact that some of them have really crappy/unsafe safety/bar hook designs. Heck, my 3x3 11ga racks with full plate storage sitting on stall mats will walk backwards over time with enough reracks. All that said, you're looking at entry-level racks that don't really cost much money to begin with. Pick one, buy it, and use it. If you outgrow it, you can sell it for around 50% of what you paid and put the money towards something heavier.
