fukin hiliarous how nerds all think science is fact when in actuality it isnt because science was made up by human beans and humans arent perfect

True. Science was an idea, and a process created by humans to understand the world around them. But it is imperfect, because there are always missing pieces. Also, our interpretation of science can be muddied by our biases, prejudices, and agendas.
The only way we can ever verify if something is 100% true is if we can build something that reads people's intentions and emotions. I doubt it! Also this 'invention' needs to be able to read and analyze if there are missing pieces/information.

I’m typing on a tiny object in my bed that is being relayed by fairies to a magical web that can be read anywhere in the world.
I might watch a show later on my magic mirror that can depict any fantasy.
I just got an alert on my wand that a storm is rolling in and sure enough, I hear thunder.
The metal box in my window is controlling the temperature in my room by magic while a magic flame is burning in the lightbulb behind me, being powered by a magical nuclear reactor.
I might go down to my magic ice box later and get food that would normally spoil in a day out that has been there for over a week.
Or turn on my magic music box and listen to any artist.
I’d also like to thank modern medicine, I mean potions, for me being alive because myself and half my family would have died of the randomest things by now.
Must all be fake and magical. No way science is real!!
Sarcasm aside now BUT:
Science is real because when you discover something, you can use it and actually do these crazy things. Like actual magic with actual results.
Just LOL at people who think it is fake.
If you observe something, test it and then can use what you learned to work miracles, it is incredibly real.

science is (mostly) confirmed with cross checking of mathematics, which as far as we know, along with physics, is consistent all throughout the universe (with the exception of close proximity of massive gravitation forces like black holes). there are a thousand different ways to check your work for confirmation and when you are dealing with quantitative analysis, its nearly 100% accurate (and that is 99.99999999999999% at that)

I've been saying this for a while too. First of all math (the basis of science itself) is made up. Did you know math didn't exist till Egyptians made it up? They came up with these "numbers" and went from there. So what you think is a 0 or 1 or 2 may actually be a 5 or 7 or 9. There is no way to know cause they basically made that chit up.
Plus they came up with this arbitrary "number" system like hundreds of years ago mane so it's natural that their understanding of the world was totally flawed. They thought the earth was round for example, just lol. So basically all of our current science is based on a bunch of bullchit made up "mathemethics" that some ancient dumbasses made up a really long time ago. Does any of it makes sense? Fuk no. I rest my case.*** Dawn Patrol Crew ***

I believe in science and not religious at all but it's kinda funny you're right. There could be things that we can't even comprehend, science just works because of what we know only from human knowledge, experience and restrictions. Science can only take us so far, what about when it gets to the parts that are unexplainable? Shirley something has to be beyond science.
There and back again twice, a deep red's tale.

Ouch. Lol.
Nah really, math isn't necessarily totally arbitrary. You mention simply the names of the digits.....these aren't important. We can name the natural numbers whatever we like, names aren't important. Let's call them 0,2,1,4,3,6,5,8,7..... in order. Then we just have 2+1 = 4, 3+2 = 6, 8 is a prime number, etc. Nothing has changed, just naming the numbers. We could also just call the natural numbers 0,cow,dog,cat,pig,horse,....... Then cow + cat = pig, horse is prime, etc. These are just names.* What is important is structure. The primes, for example are a built in structure to the natural numbers.
*To get an idea of how modern math treats numbers, where everything is put into the language of sets, we could define whole numbers within naive set theory as follows (after Russell):
0 is defined as {}, the empty set
1 is defined as the set of all sets that can be put into a one-to-one correspondence with {{}}, the set containing {}.
2 is defined as the set of all sets that can be put into a one-to-one correspondence with the set { {},{{}} }, the set containing {},{{}}
Etc
We have essentially done away with all names of digits, and just need sets {}, membership, and the notion of one-to-one correspondence for our numbers.
OP.....science works. That's one of the best justifications for it. It makes accurate predictions. It leads to all the technology around us. Not saying it has to be perfect- that's more the realm of mathematics- but science is always open up to the possibility of falsifiability. Similar to how general relativity superceded Newton's gravitation. But at the moment, current science is the best we got, and does quite well at enabling us to know nature.Last edited by numberguy12; 05-15-2018 at 06:49 PM.

If you weren't so small minded you would have continued reading and learn something. Instead you want to act cool by claiming to know about science. Real classy bro. Come back when you grow up and have something to contribute to the discussion.
Dude none of that makes sense at all. It's like back in grade school when they were trying to convince me that "x" or "y" is a number. The whole point of having numbers is to know what they are, it can't be just what we want it to be. So it's like one equation x + x = 1, then x + y = 2... so how the fuk does that make any sense? Is it x or y? Make up your mind.
This is the problem with your "sciency" types. Some ancient egyptian retards came up with some numbers and you just believe it on face value. It's easy to say cat + pig = horse now that you know what they look like, but what if you didn't know what a cat looks like and someone told you it's a pig. You're basically proving my point.
Also just because technology works doesn't mean chit. Plus it doesn't work all of the time. I get dropped calls all the time even though I have boost mobile which gets great coverage in this area. It's hit and miss. We should just scrap all this nonsense and start fresh with new maths that make sense for the 21st century.*** Dawn Patrol Crew ***

Oh the iron knee. The fact that science is fallible and constantly being revised as we learn more is the exact reason it's not a belief system. It requires zero faith.
Religion is the opposite. Well this old timey book says the earth is 6000 years old, so even though we've known this is BS for hundreds of years, we have to pretend the magic book is infallible or the entire religion will crumble.

Science is ruled by dogma just as any religion if not more. New information and new theories and new ideas are always shut down by "peer review". There is a saying that "the progress of science through time is measured by grave stones".
Mathematics is based on not understanding what 0 is. What we call zero is not nothingness. The whole thing is flawed. Mathematics only exists as abstract thought that only exists inside the human mind. Mathematics does not exist anywhere outside of us in the concrete reality. Mathematics is subjective. Expecting that the universe can be explained by Mathematics is like meeting an alien on mars and asking directions to their nearest italian restaurant. Humans are very arrogant to have any confidence in assuming they know anything about whats going on here or what any of all this is. This existence in this plane of reality is the most absurd and impossible thing that could possible be imagined. Yet here we all are. If someone knew anything they would be mute from the terror. I don't trust anyone that claims they know something or know the truth.Last edited by Caeculus; 05-15-2018 at 07:27 PM.

Describe to me in mathematics how I decide in my mind and make a fist and punch you in the face after you arose the emotion of anger in me.
Describe mathematically how a thought arises in my mind and I control my hand to make a hammer and make my arm swing at you with energy and my strike transmits pain emotion from your jaw into your mind
