I think optimal for a natty lifter would be
Monday - lift
Tues - Run
Wed - Lift
Thur - Run
Fri- Lift.
Sat / Sun off or optional lift/run
That being said i go way more because the gym is fun and makes me feel good physically and mentally. I do notice though, when i take some time off (i just got back from vacation for instance and didnt lift for 10 days), i look better than i did before leaving. Makes me think im not giving body enough time to recover / grow

the body is adaptive and you can find results that differ from what you expected.
for example a lot of people have been getting pretty good strenght + size results from squatting 3+ times a week heavy. this goes against the contrary belief of overtraining.
i still believe in overtraining is bad for you, but i think you just have to find what works for you and that your body grows from being challenged. everybody part twice a week with high volume, low-moderate intensity is good for intermediate lifters looking for hypertrophy IMO. like go to the gym 5 days a week (do legs only once hehetymen)Ex-Distance Runner | Ex-Sprinter | Current Bodybuilder/weight lifter

**INTJ/INFJ somewhere inbetween crew**
**dyel mode unless have pump and flexing crew. aka natty crew.**

My job as a dentist from 8-5 and then since it's Spring, and soon to be Summer, hit the golf course, ride my road bike, go to a Lake Huron beach, or trout stream after work. Used to lift 6 days a week during undergrad, 5-6 during Dental School and now 4 that I'm out in the working world. Toss in a fifth day of cardio for 60-90 minutes and that's plenty of gym time for me.
